Waiting for a NOA2 from VSC for your I-129F?

Can I just say that I flew in from England last night and I took one look at the U.S. Immigration people and it took everything in my power not to start ranting. I know they have absolutely NOTHING to do with my process, but it didn't matter. I realized I just hate all of them for being associated with it. Actually, it was quite funny. They asked me if I was in England for business or pleasure and I told them it was none of their business. HELLO-I LIVE HERE!

hah! I remembered they asked me that when I came back on the 2nd. Didn't even look through the pages of my passport or seem like they were trying to assess anything. USCIS is king when it comes it to useless procedures, eh?

Maybe it was because the flight was so long that the venom just stayed in the back of my throat. But you're my hero for that 'none of your business' line, haha!

.....OK....more new news......After finding out yesterday bout the RFE i called my lawyer right away.....I let her know that i knew for a fact that it was sent on the 18th and that there is no way it would take more than this week to arrive...I left that on an aswering machine....well today first thing i called her again and explained everything...she said "well i have a huge pile of mail which i will try to get to today or tomorrow" i told her i want news by friday the latest.....Well late this afternoon she left a message on my cell telling me that the RFE letter was in the pile....And to top it off...the evidence that they want...your going to laugh!!!! She forgot to have me sign one of the forms...that is all they asked for... .....NEVER EVER DEPEND ON A LAWYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well tomorrow im going to her office to sign it and im sending through my Fedex account right away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Folks,

I am getting quite tired of waiting and waiting. I wish I could take time off and visit my fiance, but can't because of work.

She does have a tourist visa and has visited the US 4-5 times in the past, before we were engaged. Can she use that tourist visa to visit? I have read the forums/guides.. but wanted to find out from this tight knit group as we have communicated frequently and I have a particular level of trust in this support group.

Your perspectives would be highly appreciated in maintaining my sanity.

I visited about three weeks ago on the VWP and got in without a problem. As long as the visit isn't too long (mine was 9 days) and your fiance can show proof of ties back home (I had lots but wasn't asked for any of it) you might be ok. The worst that can happen is that your fiance will be turned around at the POE and have to go home, it won't affect your K1 application in any way.

I can not believe this! If you had not called and was informed of the RFE, your letter would have sat at your lawyers desk til who knows when?!!!! You forced her to check her mail, unbelievable! I am soooo glad you callled.

Why am I not surprised ?

I know. Its a long time. But in Ghana the wait is 4-6 months.

I'm so frustrated with this tonight. Just returned from visiting my fiance and wish I had just stayed. It bums me out to think even if our NOA2 arrived tomorrow, we still have 6 months on the other side of it. Stupid "Ghana time" - it's an American Embassy, it should run on American time (better: New York time ). Hang in there Zee, as bummed as it makes me, it gives me hope to see your time line moving towards the entry date.

Ladies, I know how long and frustrating this so-called 'system' is but ever since we got the interview date a weird kind of calm has come over me. I know that it is still far out but at least I know it is there. We also chose to have him come in July after we have the 'wedding' in Ghana so it works out well for us. If it had been earlier (like December) we would have had to go through the hassle of rescheduling and all that.

As for the Ghana embassy . When it comes to dealing with them you have to be firm, persistent and polite. I wrote a post about it in the Sub-Saharan Africa forum. When you get your NOA2 and are waiting on the embassy I would strongly suggest not waiting on them as they can be very slow and inefficient. Neither Inusah or I took no as an answer from them. He did some fast talking there to the point that the woman he spoke with offered to move up the date to December or January if we completed the medicals and all in time. When you get to that point let me know and I will see if we can help you in any way we can

Byron - your lawyer is a bum! Every time I read a story like your I am so happy that I didn't use a lawyer to get through this process. Good luck with getting things squared away! Hopefully with something so small you'll have that NOA2 very soon!!!!

Soch, my lawyer is a waste....he's not even listed under our case so if we would've got a RFE, Pat would've got the letter, like he did when the NOA1, it was send to him instead of our lawyer which makes me feel relieve cause you know how lawyers are...especially mine who keeps telling me to wait.

What's with these lawyers? What is their function? They keep messing up basic paperwork. Heck, my fiance was telling the lawyer about the different kinds of visas available and the guy was taking notes. That should have been a warning to me at the time. I asked mine that since he's an attorney he can make more of an impact with congress/USCIS about changing the system, but he said that' s just how it is. We just need to wait.
