This is the hot news in Kansas City at the moment:

(child's body was found late yesterday after i received 5 amber alerts.  seems that the father and his girlfriend did this.
the child's mother is in jail)
 

Wyandotte County jail records show that Jansen was booked on Friday night on suspicion of first-degree murder and abuse of a child.

On Saturday morning, Jacqulyn Kirkpatrick was also booked on suspicion of first-degree murder and abuse of a child.

Both case numbers are listed the same.

Jansen went to the cops at around 8.30am on Friday morning and said that, when he woke up two hours earlier, the back door was open and his daughter was gone, KMBC reported.

There is no hell horrific enough for these asshats. I would cheerfully volunteer to be the executioner should they be found guilty. How low must someone sink to kill a toddler

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Howard Jansen III and his girlfriend charged with murdering 3-year-old

KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) – On Sunday, the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office announced that both Howard J. Jansen III and Jacqulyn A. Kirkpatrick have been formally charged with murder in connection with the death of 3-year-old Olivia Jansen.

Both are facing charges of first-degree murder, aggravated endangerment of a child, and criminal desecration.

The desecration charge stems from “unlawfully and knowingly obtain[ing] unauthorized control of a dead body.”

 

Both have been in jail for awhile on suspicion of the same things, but that was on the basis of a 48-hour hold.

The charges were presumably filed now in particular in order to beat that hold’s expiration time.

They are now being held on a $500,000 bond, cash or surety.
