Small update on my case: called the USCIS around 4PM yesterday and only had to wait for about 3 minutes (magic?? lol). Explained to the lady how I never got my bio appointment for my I-485 and how my case still says that my RFE was received in October. She told me there's a chance they'll just reuse the bio info I provided for my EAD instead of having me go in for a separate appointment and that she'll make sure my case will get updated within 30 days.

Just had a chat with live representative. She assured me that my case status not changing after biometrics shouldn't affect my EAD processing time.

Hi there. Is your EAD still no approved? Mine has not changed for more than a month now. I figured I'll go ahead and start applying and just apply for expedite when I get a job offer.

Nope, not yet.

Based on what I read, it's hard to get EAD expedited unless you have something else besides having a job offer. It's worth trying though, I might do it soon if I don't hear anything.

AP request based on pending I-485 doesn't require biometrics. Only AP request done outside the US based on humanitarian reasons or for significant public benefit requires biometrics: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-131instr.pdf Page 12

I am in a similar situation like you. I suggest doing it when you get the notice that your interview has been scheduled. You will have time as they give you 4-6 weeks to prepare for the interview. Good luck!

Hi guys, my case status just changed to "ready to be scheduled for an interview". When do you suggest that I do my i693 health exam? Since I don't know if it takes 5 months or 1 year to get interview scheduled, and i don't want my i693 to get expired during the wait. Thank you!

Please don’t bet on that! I had to reschedule my interview as I was only given 3 weeks notice. @iris@@ contact your local USCIS doctor first before deciding as you need time. For me, and I think for most, it is two appointments for your medical. I had to go and get more boosters and have tests done to prove immunity and it took a week in itself. So don’t be complacent, be proactive and as prepared as you can be :) your service center might surprise you like mine did 😂
