Closed to all immigrant and non immigrant visa interviews scheduled thru July 31st.  Of course they are open to US Citizens on a emergency basis.

This is on their Facebook website:

"The U.S. Embassy in the Philippines has canceled all immigrant and nonimmigrant visa interviews scheduled through July 31 in response to significant worldwide challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The U.S. Department of State has suspended routine visa services at all U.S. Embassies and Consulates around the world. As resources allow, embassies and consulates will continue to provide emergency visa services. We will resume routine visa services as soon as possible, but are unable to provide a specific date at this time. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Once visa services resume, affected applicants should reschedule their visa interviews through the Embassy call center by phone at +63 (2) 7792-8988 and +63 (2) 8548-8223, or through the online appointment system at ustraveldocs.com/ph.

There is no fee to change an appointment, and visa application fees are valid for one year in the country where the fee was paid. https://ph.usembassy.gov/visa-update-visa-appointment-canc…/

I'm trying to stay positive. I'm hoping for a September or October interview.

Why don't they just consider doing tele-interviews or video conferencing for the issue of K-1 Visas? especially during these pandemic times. It seems to be the only option. Or allow visa interviews through glass partition? Like a bank teller window.

It's much more than just creating a barrier between consular and applicant.   You have many individuals in the common waiting area that need protective measures.   Also, without inter island travel,  many applicants couldn't even attend interviews.  So the hold up is not solely on the embassy side but also local conditions

YMMV

The rising number of cases in the US means that even if the number of cases in the Philippines goes low enough to end the the quarantine, the Philippine government might not allow their citizens to go on non-essential travel to the US because they might want to return.

Good idea but unfortunately there are to many variables in play. Not to mention the USG is forbidden from using Zoom

What about processing recently submitted 221g paperwork from the courier service 2Go, does that count as a routine visa processing?

They already do the interviews through glass windows for security in Manila. Gave me more of a payday loan vibe)))

Not a newbie but lost my old info years ago) I have been through this process before --all the way through naturalization-- This site has always been a great help to me.
