Hi All,

My i130 is approved in USCIS and was sent to NVC for processing. NVC has reviewed my petition and has documentarily qualified it and is awaiting for an interview schedule at US consulate India.

My question is, I haven't uploaded my PCC document in portal and have requested NVC regarding the pandemic situation and the temporary shutdown of PSK/RPO in my circle (Tamil Nadu). I have scheduled appointment at PSK twice and in both occurrence the PSK was closed, am unsure when the PSK will resume and will I be getting the PCC on same day of appointment. If the US consulate interview date is scheduled, what should I do to get the PCC expedite and is there any alternative?

Regards,

Rafic

No alternative - many of us are in the same situation, in multiple countries. Interviews are probably months out, and I don’t anticipate embassies to open before local government offices in the country open up, so the PCC will probably be easily attained before an interview gets scheduled. If the interview gets scheduled before, you’ll have to provide the PCC before a visa can be issued.

You can submit documents without PCC right now.

Many people filling from Mumbai Consulate have submitted their documents without PCC and got DQ.

Just write a note that due to pandemic and lockdown in place you can not get PCC and will bring it to your interview.

for your question -

If the US consulate interview date is scheduled, what should I do to get the PCC expedite and is there any alternative?

There is no alternative.

It takes about 10 days to get PCC from PSK in India.

Also theres huge backlog at Mumbai consulate. (currently about 6 months wait but will depend on when you got DQ) Last Interview were scheduled for month of November/December DQ (Cancelled due to lockdown)

So you will have plenty of time to get PCC once everything resumes.

Currently in Tamilnadu few PSKs are open starting tomorrow.

1. Coimbatore

2. Tirunelveli

3. Tiruchirappalli

4. Madurai

5. Thanjavur

Thank you so much. I have joined the telegram group. Yes, I could see some of the PSK's in TN are open, however, I could not make appointment in any of them you have mentioned, not getting listed when I entered my area pin code while taking appointment. As you mentioned there are plenty of time as the backlogs are more, I will wait for few more days and see If PSK's corresponds to my area code (Preferably Chennai Zone) resume, if yes I will reschedule my appointment and try to get the PCC asap.

Rafi
