RFIE 8879 tax transcripts?

Hi! So we sent our aos before my husband filed and now we got an RFIE requiring his tax transcripts. His "tax guy" emailed us a form 8879 and my husband insisted it's enough or it's what USCIS is asking  but when I searched for it here, apparently it's not.. or is it?

 

we were about to send our response today but Idk yet.

Did you check the actual instructions?

You should send what they're asking for.

A form 8879 is NOT a substitute for a tax transcript.  A tax transcript MUST be obtained from the IRS.

Idk what tax transcripts would be 😔 sorry and my husband just asked his tax guy idk i just wanted some clarification here is the letter

You need to shake your husband, I just took 10 seconds to see what that document is, authorization from e-file signature.

If you keep sending the wrong thing then you risk rejection and starting over.

Thank you! This was the answer I needed. Guess we're  not submitting it today 😅

You MUST submit either a complete tax return with all forms, schedules, W-2s, etc.....or a "Tax Return Transcript" from the IRS.  There are no other options.

I know but they kept insisting it was it. Even his mom, too when we asked for clarification.   But i just showed him some stuff here on visajourney and now we're trying to actually get the correct thing 😅

People are having trouble getting the transcripts right now because the IRS is shutdown.

The website to request them doesn't work for everyone, in that case you might have to send actual tax documents.

OKay so..right now we're kinda having trouble "signing in" 
But if that's the case we should just send in 1040, W-2, etc?

That would be your only option at this point.

I don't know of any estimated date when they're supposed to reopen.

Couldn't get it for some reason my husband's phone number got an error or something. We also called the number on that website but IRS has shutdown due to the corona like the previous posts implied
