F1 (Unmarried Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizen) Priority date is current on DATES FOR FILING VISA APPLICATION

Hello everyone,

Hope is everyone doing well. My sister priority date is current on DATES ON FILING VISA APPLICATION and she falls under F1 Category (Unmarried Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizen). I was wondering if we need to call the NVC to follow up her welcome letter so she can start submitting the required documentation and pay the fees  to process her visa? Or do we have to wait until her priority date become current at FINAL ACTION DATE?

No need to follow up. NVC usually processes welcome letter on their own (not after someone tells them) a bit before PD becomes current based on Final Action date.

Spouse:

2015-06-16: I-130 Sent

2015-08-17: I-130 approved

2015-09-23: NVC received file

2016-07-06: DS-260 Submitted

2016-07-07: AOS and IV Package mailed

2016-07-08: NVC Scan

I though there is a possibility that she will received a welcome letter from NVC once her priority date is current on DATES FOR FILING. Thank you.

Really no rush as there is a ban in place (assuming your sister is not under 21)

huh? I'm talking about the NVC, not the consulate. Anyway, thanks for the response.

Im just saying there is no need to follow up as NVC does it automatically plus there is a ban in place for the foreseeable future that would mean a visa couldn't be issued anyways so just sit tight and wait for NVC

I am also an F1 but not yet current in the visa bulletin. Just hoping to know the process once the Date is current in Dates for Filing.

Did your sister already received the Welcome Letter?

She haven’t received a welcome letter yet. But we will call the NVC soon since here priority date is current on “Dates for filing”. We just need to know her Invoice ID number so we can start paying the fees and submit the required documents on CEAC Site.

I don't think you understand the serious situation about the F! visa, you or your family MIGHT not get a letter, approval or visa UNTIL MAY 2025.

Isn't an F-1 visa a student visa anyway?

It’s a family base category. Please see the first topic I posted LOL, there is also f1 for student visa but I specifically mentioned on my topic that it’s a family based visa. People please read 😏
