My Oath ceremony has been scheduled and i am now waiting for the letter in the mail  to see the date and time. For those in Boston, is there an option to apply for the passport at the same venue as the Oath? Thought id ask!

Thank you

Congratulations!! Unfortunately, no. You will have to go to one of the post offices in your area. You can look on their website to see which one offers passport services. Not everyone does.

Thanks,

They will take your green card away right before the ceremony. You will leave with a naturalization certificate. Regarding travel, you will need to obtain a passport first. That takes some depending on the processing times.

Thank you. I looked up the passport application process and place (USPS) where i will go to apply in person. Went to the MA district court website to look up the Naturalization schedule but the pdf attached had info from 2020 and has not been updated-  Cant wait to get this over with.

My Oath ceremony has been scheduled for June 23rd at Moakley Courthouse. Can anyone who had their Oath at this venue post Covid tell me more about the process and how long it took?

Thank you!

I filed online today. It originally said 14 months, but having checked again it now says 9 months.

Filed September 2021 online under 5 year rule. Other than the biometric reuse, absolute silence although other September filers at other field offices are getting interviews and approvals.

Filed online August 17th w/ biometrics reused notice on the 17th, as well. Local office is Boston, MA; still radio silence. I believe another person filed in September who already received an interview date.

We pretty much have the same timeline, Silence here also. I did see a post about a month back where an August filer got an interview date but that was it. I suspect this summer sometime. Says 7 months on the USCIS website and 10.5 to 16 months as the time its taking. Just press on they will contact you when they are ready. Not much we can do about it .

Mine went 9 to 11 to now 4 months estimate, that number is so meaningless imo. I also can't find as many people filing in Boston as NJ or Cali so it's harder to tell.

According to some users on Reddit, the average wait time to an interview was 5 months for Boston. I'm assuming the 2020 applications that had their A-files locked underground are slowly trickling in to the officers' workload.
