I passed the citizen test already but I got a requests an evidence after that. They asked about the company that I use to work for employment verification letter and employment contact. It's been 3 year and now the company is no longer exist anymore. Does anyone has that experience or know what to do?

Try TheWorkNumber dot com

it is possible your employer shared payroll records with that web site and if so you will be able to generate employment verification records.  I did this recently and had employment records dating from before 2000 AD.

Is that the company which sponsored your green card? Or is it one of the company you have worked in the last five years? It is possible they are asking the RFE as you may have left the sponsoring company too soon...Am I right??

It is just the company I have worked in the last 5 years. The company did not sponsor me anything.

Do you mind sharing, how long you worked for the GC sponsoring company after the GC was approved? If at all yours was an employment based Green card...

Good luck to you

I'm sorry, I did not get my Greencard because of the company. I just worked there part time.

Do they ask employment verifications now even if the company didn't sponsor the gc? Can't figure out why would they ask in the first place.

I dont know too but now I'm thinking if I could not find the employment letter from the company. I might write the letter to them and wait to see what going to happen.

First time I am hearing of this. These blokes at USCIS are now digging and trawling the bottom of the barrel for any and everything to deny people. What has payroll and letterhead of your ex employer got to do with anything? 🙄🙄🙄Doesn’t the tax return provide enough relevant financial info?

i support USCIS doing a thorough job but some of the stuff is getting ridiculous. I don’t think you should treat this casually. Asking for this kind of stuff only means they want to refuse you. Try to gather as much info as you can for them, and if you think you have any irregularities in your immigration history it might be a good time to lawyer up

This is whats so perplexing to me as well. I also got an RFE after my N400 interview and included in the list of what they were asking was a letter from my current employer requesting my employment details even though I'm applying via 3 year marriage to a US citizen. Not exactly sure either as to why they would want to see a letterhead from my employers as that proves nothing about my marriage. Sounds to me like they're just handing out these RFE's willy nilly  nowadays.

It's possible they want to check the I-9 records with the employer. Maybe to see if there was a false claim to citizenship to obtain that work? Who knows.

Maybe the company is suspected of violating the law already, or was found to have been doing so?

It's unusual at the least to see them request something from an employer when the employer was not involved in acquiring your green card.
