My case was recommended for approval, and the officer tried to print me oath information at the end of the interview, but there was a computer issue. We wait but still couldn't work, so she told me she will mail the oath letter to me within 9-10 days.  I am not sure if I have to wait 120 days to ask to call or I can call to ask earlier. I will keep update when I have new information.

Have you checked if the letter is available in your online account? Mine was uploaded there immediately. I had my interview on a Thursday and the hardcopy showed up in my mailbox the following Monday, so about 2 business days.

If you letter isn't in your online account you can send them a message via your online account and ask. Calling is faster but not sure if they can give you any useful information, they're generally quite brain dead.

Thanks so much for the suggestion dear. It is very warm and helpful.  I will message them to ask through my online account soon. I truly felt frustrated after the interview date (5/5) because there was no update. Until now, it still shows "Interview Was Scheduled." I also check my mailbox every day, and there is no physical letter as well.

I will keep updating here when I have new progress.

If that was the first email you received, I assume it means you were placed in the queue to be scheduled for your interview and you’ll receive another email like that once you actually get scheduled. It took about two weeks after that first email for me to get scheduled and get the second email.

Based on the timelines shared on here, some folks get scheduled “out of order”, meaning even with the same application date you might get scheduled a few weeks earlier or later compared to someone else.  Perhaps the move to Fresno added some extra time? But it sounds like you’re at least in the queue to get scheduled, so I assume you’ll get scheduled relatively soon. Finger crossed!

HI , For me it has been over a month , I understand from you that the max seems like 15 days and maybe less for some people ?

I actually have no insight into how long it tends to take from getting the update email from USCIS until actually getting scheduled. The timelines listed on this website, however, are a good gauge of timing of scheduling based on timing of filing: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/citlist.php?op6=All&op7=San+Francisco+CA&op1=6&op2=&op4=1&op5=5%2C10%2C11&cfl=0

Just update my case.

I emailed USCIS a week ago and got a reply this morning. It said "USCIS systems indicate that you appeared for your naturalization interview on May 05, 2021. If final approval is granted, you will be notified of when and where to report for your naturalization ceremony."

It is week 5, still no oath information. My status still shows "Interview Was Scheduled." I am not sure, but I think my case may hold on even I received a recommended for approval notice on the interview date. But I think my case is easy.

Anyway, wish everyone still waiting for the interview all can receive oath information or complete the oath ceremony on the interview date.

Hey Folks... long story short: I was approved and by the time I had exited the office and was in my car, the system was already changed to "Oath Ceremony will be scheduled." .

Long story: I live in the other side of the city from the USCIS office and my interview was scheduled for 840 in the morning. However! I arrived there at 720 😀 as I knew from my normal pre-covid morning commute up the beltway to my workplace, arrival time could be unpredictable if I had decided to leave home any later than I did. No biggy, I just sat in my car, people watched and looked at emails until closer to 8am.

I went to the front door and the guard standing outside was checking interview slips before letting folks into the building. Inside there were maybe 30-40 people. Most were there with spouses and / or lawyers. Very few of us were by ourselves and I will assume that all us single folks were there for our N400 interviews.

At check in they give you a number Pxx or Kxx and tell you to wait until you hear your number being called.  Masks were mandatory.  I was dressed in business casual. Some folks were there in t-shirts and jeans.

840 comes around; nothing. I'm not sweating it - it took 30 mins past my AOS interview to be called so I was expecting a delay. But, it is now 920 and people who had come in after me were being called and I started to wonder if maybe I missed my number being called. By now, the office was really buzzing with more people coming in.

Finally at 940 I heard my number. The officer was all apologetic about the delay and mentioned that I was to be her second interview and her previous one did not go as planned hence the delay to seeing me. I followed her to her office where she asked me to swear under oath that everything, I was about to say was the truth.  She took my fingerprints and a picture. And gave me a little bit of hard time about how long it took for me to apply for my GC (married 12 years before applying for AOS in 2017). She really wanted to know the entire story :)

Anyway, we went through the civics test

1.    What is the economic system in the United States?

Then…the computer system went down. Would you believe it…She was so apologetic, explaining that the system would not allow her to save my answer. Then the system shut down completely and she called someone to come help. From their discussions, it was suggested that I could be there a long time and every thing might have to be done by hand and uploaded to the system after the end of the day…I felt real bad for her.

Eventually…maybe 10-15 minutes later, the system was back up and we were able to continue.

Next was the yes / no questions from your N400. This is a chance to update anything was submitted wrongly. I was asked about my citations (speeding tickets in 2003 and 2016) and whether I had received any since submitting my application. At the end she said she was approving me for naturalization however she warned me that I was not yet an US Citizen and I should not state that I was until after the oath. She also mentioned that I should make sure that I do not receive any citations between now and the oath as they would pull me out of the oath ceremony if there were any outstanding legal matters.

Overall despite the hiccups with the system which caused some nerves in me, the experience was pleasant.

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to drop a quick update for you guys!

A little background, me and my wife are N400 applicants. We filed at the same time March 2020.

As I have mentioned in my previous post that I got my Biometrics done last May 26. My wife was bummed about that she wasn't scheduled for her biometrics. Then, two weeks after my appointment, my wife got scheduled for her Biometrics, which was completed today, June 29. Everything is going steady so far. Our cases per MyUSCIS account/website says completion estimated in 13-14 months. (A bit of a bummer, but it is fine).

Funny thing is, after my wife's appointment today, her case status updated to "Being actively reviewed." For my case however, it still says "Biometrics scheduled." It has been more than a month already since my Biometrics were done. (Now, I'm the one bummed about my case status, LOL). Should I message USCIS in my account and ask about it or should I call? or wait?

 Hi!

Congrats on having your interview! It's been awhile since I've logged back in VJ website. I can pretty much relate to this, although mine is stuck in "Biometrics has been scheduled." My wife did here Biometrics today, June 29, and after a couple of hours, her case got update to "being actively reviewed." Hope you can received oath information soon.

Hi, thank you for the blessings. I am glad to hear you and your wife both finally completed the biometric appointments. I hope you will be scheduled for the interview soon. It has been 15 months since submitting the application.

My estimated time until the final decision made is 11 months, similar to yours. I am also a 5-yr rule filer. I do not have updated status as well. You were done your bio but your still shows "Biometrics has been scheduled.” Mine is still “Interview was Scheduled.”

Did you guys read this? Maybe the qtr3 report will come soon. There were many pending cases.

I still do not receive my oath letter. Tomorrow (6/30) will be the end of week 8 waiting time, but I am fine with it now.

It's been quiet on this thread lately... but happy to say I passed my interview today and was able to take my oath same-day. I registered to vote as soon as I got home and going to the post office tomorrow to apply for my passport. What a relief after 16 months of waiting!

As far as I could tell they had multiple ceremonies throughout the day, and I assume that’s the case every day.
