I had the best experience today in Lawrence field office. My officer was a wonderful  person, she was very friendly and smart. We had a really nice conversation about different topics.

 

 She first started with the reading and writing using a tablet, then asked me 6 questions. She only asked for my Greencard. We went quickly through the yes/no questions.

When I was waiting I thought it’s going to be a difficult one but instead it was a very smooth procedure.

Just received my oath ceremony date (was uploaded into the documents tab one day after the interview), it's a little over 2 weeks away at a courthouse (I requested a name change).

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a passport afterwards if you do expedited? Is it really 4-6 weeks as stated on the website?

Noom had his citizenship interview today...approved and oath administered! His journey is complete! What a happy day!

I went to https://my.uscis.gov/account/applicant# , found under N400 "documents" all the notices they sent to me:

 

Biometric Reuse
Sent on October 22, 2020
Receipt Notice
Sent on September 16, 2020

 

They are going to reuse the biometric from my I751. finally some progress.

Hello Everyone, I need some inputs from experts in this forum. My application for naturalization is denied, and I am Expecting the denial letter any time soon )

Reason : I filed my application of March 9th, 2020 in Cleveland. I was just moved to Cleveland on 01/15/2020, so not able to justify three months residency in current jurisdiction. 

 

Interview officer went on my civics question and reading and writing skills and then started going through my application, and he found that by the time I applied my stay in Ohio is 52 days only and the requirement is 90 days. I really don't know how I missed it though :(. Officer told me he is rejecting my application and I will receive a denial letter soon.

 

After doing some research on VJ, I found that I did satisfy my residency in current state requirement. Here is the reason why I think its a mistake from officer.

 

I got GC on 06/01/2015, Five years will complete by 05/30/2020, where as I applied based on 90 days early filing. For early filing the current state of residency requirement seems different. See the below statement.  

 

D. 90-Day Early Filing Provision (INA 334)

      "In cases where an applicant has filed early and the required three month period of residence in a state or service district falls within the required five-year period of continuous residence, jurisdiction for filing will be based on the three-month period immediately preceding the examination on the application."

 

As per the above statement by 05/30/2020 I am meeting the required 90 days stay in current jurisdiction.

 

I am thinking of appealing my denial, please suggest.

Letting you all know, I had my interview 2 days ago, I took what they wanted me to take and also my divorce papers, lease , tax returns, etc and got accepted. Sorry for writing this late but I hope it goes well for everyone

 

5 year permanent residency and divorced.

May I ask how long it took from filling N400 until received Biometric reuse ? Thanks

Just would like to share, my wife applied for naturalization this year on March 11. The biometrics appointment got cancelled due to covid like everybody else, after the ASC reopened we have been emailing via My USCIS site and have not been getting right response, finally 2 weeks ago we called USCIS and explained the situation, they went ahead and rescheduled the biometrics, received new appointment letter few days later. Today she just finished her biometrics appointment, we'll update as soon as things progressed.
