"We sent you an approval notice" Question

We just got letter saying that application was accepted and "We sent you an approval notice." (i'm assuming now) it's moving to NVC? Let's say for example...they call finance April 1st to schedule interview (if that's the procedure), how long can we go out to schedule this appointment...is there an expiration? If they call us April 1st and say go ahead and schedule interview can we say we'll call you back with a date or do we do something online to schedule it? Can we say we would like to come in for interview in May or June, can it be that far out in advance? We've noticed that now the timing has changed on her side due to family situation and want to push back the date she comes to the US.

The interview is scheduled by you, or your beneficiary.

Fill in your timeline if you can.

You will also have to complete the NVC stage first, in which you can delay the process until you become DQ by just taking some time to complete/upload all documents. Your timeline isn't filled out but I assume your approval is for the I-130 which is only the first step of the process :)

EDIT: just saw your update that it's for Fiance visa. Please fill our your timeline on your profile :)

The "delay at NVC stage" still applies I believe.

I'm was under the assumption that someone at the embassy would call her saying. "we got your paperwork, we're ready for your interview...let's schedule it" At this point we would like to postpone the interview for at least 2 months so that our 6 month "come to US" window gets pushed back.

That is a fast turn around for NOA2. Especially if you got NOA1 at the end of December. Most people will be waiting until the end of March if not mid April or later. I got my NOA1 on December 23rd.

@Solaris81 Yeah we were thinking the same thing. We tried to plan out the sending of the documents to normal forum response of other individuals and the timeline on the USCIS page to guess-stimate her arrival here in the US but seems like things are moving a lot quicker than normally projected.

I meet many K1 visa applicants that come to Vegas to get married, and Visa in hand in 6 months or less seems to be the norm now. Of course that can change at any time, but last couple had their interview within 4 to 5 months of initial filing. The K1 seems to be speeding up towards the 90 days it used to take. But that is a small sampling, but it took my fiancee almost exactly 8 months from filing to Visa in hand, and I filed December 2017.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

When I tried the K-1 in Moscow you or your Fiance had to schedule, had to log in and see if appointments are available.  Best of luck you get locked out after 5 attempts/day.  Good luck, my now wife is not very skilled on the computer so I tried. and after 2 Months of getting "due to staffing reductions imposed by Russian officials, no appointments available." we transferred to Kazakhstan.  Only to get denied for "lack of proof of a valid relationship."  So now we went with Plan B and got married in Moscow...not an easy task, had to Register first, then after 32 days you can schedule the wedding ceremony.

As I said good luck, prayers and blessings!

Here are the instructions to finish this properly or you will be asked to repeat it over and over as it's needed to answer some questions that you may pose.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

@Greenbaum Thank you for your reply but I completed my profile yesterday. At first I didn't know about that but I believe the second poster helped me with it as well...and got it taken care of yesterday. The flag is Russia.
