  1. Why were they merged if i was asking questions about Canada? Now individuals won't see my Canada questions?
  2. I posted in the K1 visa area and got some information that I might need to ask this group of some what ifs.... I'm currently going through talks about a divorce with my husband and i'm on a Conditional GC. Expiration is Feb 2024. I have Family in Canada already under the CUAET program and thinking maybe it would be a good idea to jump ship and make it that way to be with them instead of staying in the US or going back to my war-torn country I know this place is full of opinions and i'm grateful for everyone that responds to my post but as of right now i'm strongly considering relieving myself of the Green card and filing the form I-407 and abandoning the green card. I would rather feel better knowing that my husband/ex would sleep better knowing that no one (government etc) is going to come after him for any aid i may or may not ask for. He's been amazing person during this short time knowing him but as more of an independent woman i know that i would have it the same way if it was me financially sponsoring him and not have this 10 years ( 40 quarters or waiting on getting citizenship) to end the obligation. Money was always a sore subject with us and I don't want it to continue even as friends. Now with that being said....Any advice as to what i should do, maybe someone in a similar situation. 1. Should i apply for the CUAET program now while i'm still married ( no documents have been filed or filled out yet) but it will be easy. I would leave with everything i came with...I want nothing of his. 2. I need to start work immediately, as I haven't worked since I left my country in 2020. What other things would i need to know? Very lost! TY
  3. Thank you it's absolutely heart breaking for us. Everything is so different here and i'm finding so hard to adjust. One thing i'm concerned about is creating an issue for my husband with the financial sponsorship...it seems like theres really only 3 ways to end this for us (work 10 years, apply for citizenship in about 7 years? or leave the country) correct? I don't want to create anymore problems for him or his future and it weighing on his mind
  4. I'm a conditional Green card holder with my GC expiring in 2024 of Feb. Me and my husband are getting a divorce want to know if it's possible to move to Canada to be with my sister instead of staying in the U.S. I have nobody here and miss my family very much. What options do i have? If it's possible, what issues or processes would have i have to take to make the move? Sorry if i posted in wrong forum
