Hello everyone

I received an email from the US Consulate that my approved K1 petiton has reached their office. The email refers to a link for further information about scheduling for an inteview. (The link is https://tr.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa). I found a PDF document on this web site that explains the process further. However, I cannot schedule an appointment without a DS 160 application number. Should I first complete DS 160 application ? The reason is that the appointment website is asking for both Case Number and DS-160 Number (see the screenshot attached).

Thank you for the help.

Alex

The details and their sequence of course will vary by consulate.  But no visa interview can happen without a visa application, which in the case of the K-1 is the DS-160 form.

So it doesn’t surprise me you cannot schedule an interview without first submitting a DS-160.  I would actually expect that and it was our experience with a different embassy.

You can't get an interview date if you haven't applied for the visa yet. The visa application is the DS-160.

Indeed, the DS 160 is your actual visa application, so fill it in first and then you'll be able to go further with scheduling your interview.
