Annulment in the Philippines

Hello everyone,

First off, I am very appreciative to anyone who responds and can give me some direction. I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this question.

As an introduction, I am going to help a friend of mine that I met in Hong Kong achieve an annulment in the Philippenes. She has been separated for over 10 years from her husband, and is now encountering significant legal difficulties in getting re-married and also has issues regarding property. She has asked me to aid her in this process.

Additionally, I am not too familiar with the process. I am looking for an attorney for her who will be honest regarding the details of her case.

First off, I understand that choosing an attorney and the judge assigned to the case play a crucial role. She is willing, and able, to travel to any lawyer on Luzon, ranging from Baguio to Manila. Also, cost is not an issue as long as it is within a normal/reasonable range for a high quality and attentive attorney. This leads to my first question:

1. Which district/city/province (however it goes) offers the best rate of return for annulments in terms of how long it takes, and success rates?

And now to the second question...

2. Does anyone have any recommendations of names of attorneys who have a good track record?

Once again, I am very gracious to anyone who can point me in the right direction in regards to my questions, as well as if there is a proper forum or organization to contact to answer my questions.

If she is living in HK getting divorced in HK would be the obvious route.

Thanks for getting back to me!

She is currently living on Luzon.

She is currently married to a filipino. As I understand, the Philippenes still does not recognize foreign divorces unless they are to a foreigner, which is why she would prefer to get an annulment.

Well this is an immigration forum so the people here are best versed in providing information as it relates to immigration.  Does she have any thoughts or plans to immigrate to the USA?  If not then this is probably not the best forum for the question..    I have also PMed you

My now wife went through an annulment in the Philippines. The only way to speed it up is to make it more "expensive" or to know someone inside the system. It's already about $3k and takes 2 years. Search around the forum, there is many recommendations already  in here.

Assuming this is a new relationship the more obvious solution is to move on, look elsewhere, plenty of fish in this sea.

Nope but there are a lot of "fixers" that make that promise.  Unfortunately the CO is well versed in recognizing fake annulment documents.  I've see that happen a few times.

Our annulment was 18 months and 350,000 pesos and my wife knew the judge and the attorney was the previous mayor of the town.  Her connections were great and it still took 18 months.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

My wife's was 18-24 months, somewhere in there, but she only paid 150,000 pesos. This was ~5 years ago.
