Are cell phones allowed at Biometrics? (York, PA USCIS Application Support Center)

I have my biometrics appointment next week and was concerned about not being able to bring my phone, as I will have to Uber to the facility and back and need my phone for this. I am going by myself, so no car or person to leave it with.

This will be at the York, PA USCIS location.

Is anyone aware about the cellphone policies?

Thank you!

Depends on location. We did our AOS interview here in Las Vegas, NV February 5th, so a few weeks ago, and they had a strict cell phone ban in effect. We made sure to leave ours in the car, and noone had their phone on them. I believe the security officers had tags or bins they would allow you to turn off your phone, and leave it with them for safe keeping, I saw a few phones people put in basket and gave to security, so I'm sure if they don't allow phones, they will watch it for you. Other poster above didn't specify it was your location he went to, but if it was, then you will be fine.

Also as a note biometrics he went for. At our location is a different side of the office, and for biometrics we were allowed to bring phones at the Las Vegas office, so it depends. Biometrics we were allowed phones, AOS interview side no phones.

Here are some suggestions:

1) I just got this from a Google review but you can check if this number works

USCIS Application Support Center

Address: Meadowlands Business Park, 8698, 3516 Concord Rd, York, PA 17402

Phone: (800) 375-5283

2) Also, there is public transportation
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:
There is a Rabbit Transit bus stop 0.2 miles from the ASC. Please contact Rabbit transit at www.rabbittransit.org.

3) If you live close enough and the phone number does not work, you can go there a few days earlier to ask security regarding cell phone policy. Maybe they'll allow you a walk in too while you're there.

4) Or just bring it. as mentioned by loren y, if they have a no cell phone policy, then they'll probably provide bins for safekeeping. Good luck!

I went to that same location over ten years ago, nobody said anything about cellphones, but things can change. I will be going to the same location, just waiting on my biometrics letter in the mail, or to show up on my Elis account...

I had my phone with me when I went to the biometrics appointment at the USCIS center in Hackensack (NJ). The security guard asked me to turn off the phone which I did, when I returned a couple of hours later with the certificate of birth  I told him that I turned it off but he asked me to take it out of my handbag and touched the screen to make sure it was off.

So , I guess every office has their own policy.

Alexandria, vA allowed you to bring your phones in with you, but not use them.  They had some staff that would yell at you if you were using your phone.
