I feel like I posted about something similar last year? Maybe I'm wrong. At least this one dresses like it's the 21st century.

 

I do agree with her that feminism should be about choices, and I support her right to do this. Not something I would choose to do again in my life, but according to her I wasn't even a good housewife because I had someone to clean the house and do the cooking (although I did that whenever I felt like it). I suppose I failed at being a tradwife!

Well, it's also important to learn from those failures and understand how to change going forward.  

 

As it stands right now, I'm a housewife again, and the only thing I'm outsourcing is laundry because I don't like folding bottom sheets and I hate ironing. For less than $20 a week, I get someone else to do something I detest.

I'm not a Christian, nor is Alex.  So we don't have to worry about such things.

 

My ex sprung the inclusion of "obey" in our wedding vows at the last moment. I wasn't happy, but I did it because he said it was important to his mother who is a very traditional, high church Anglican. My mother was appalled, but I just wanted to have it be a non-issue so I said fine. Even our officiant was like, ummmm, do you really want this? I was and continue to be not very good at obeying!

But I will be again, soon(ish). Would it be so very different if I was married this moment? I mean, I don't believe in submission in marriage, at least as the default setting, on a philosophical level. I get to have an opinion whether I'm married or not.

 

Should wives of women submit to each other? Just a general question. I wonder if there are any denominations that officiate gay weddings that also still have the "obey" in their wedding vows.
