Search the hashtag ‘#tradwife’ on social media and you’ll see images of cooked dinners and freshly-baked cakes with captions like, “A woman’s place is in the home” or “Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman”.

Seems every action has a reaction.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I feel like I posted about something similar last year? Maybe I'm wrong. At least this one dresses like it's the 21st century.

I do agree with her that feminism should be about choices, and I support her right to do this. Not something I would choose to do again in my life, but according to her I wasn't even a good housewife because I had someone to clean the house and do the cooking (although I did that whenever I felt like it). I suppose I failed at being a tradwife!

It is important to acknowledge and accept our failures.

Well, it's also important to learn from those failures and understand how to change going forward. :P

As it stands right now, I'm a housewife again, and the only thing I'm outsourcing is laundry because I don't like folding bottom sheets and I hate ironing. For less than $20 a week, I get someone else to do something I detest.

22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything

I'm not a Christian, nor is Alex. :) So we don't have to worry about such things.

My ex sprung the inclusion of "obey" in our wedding vows at the last moment. I wasn't happy, but I did it because he said it was important to his mother who is a very traditional, high church Anglican. My mother was appalled, but I just wanted to have it be a non-issue so I said fine. Even our officiant was like, ummmm, do you really want this? I was and continue to be not very good at obeying!

You are not a wife.

But I will be again, soon(ish). Would it be so very different if I was married this moment? I mean, I don't believe in submission in marriage, at least as the default setting, on a philosophical level. I get to have an opinion whether I'm married or not.

Should wives of women submit to each other? Just a general question. I wonder if there are any denominations that officiate gay weddings that also still have the "obey" in their wedding vows.

Are scripture quotations fair game? Because if they are, I have a few select ones to lay on this forum, if it's fair enough to get on a moral high horse.

If we are talking about Lesbians then there does seem to be a butch and a pretty one, how the dynamics work out I have no idea.

A preacher was telling his congregation that anything they could think of, old or new, was discussed somewhere in the Bible and that the entirety of the human experience could be found there.

After the service, he was approached by a woman who said, "Preacher, I don't believe the Bible mentions PMS."

The preacher replied that he was sure it must be there somewhere and that he would look for it.

The following week after service, the preacher called the woman aside and showed her a passage which read, "And Mary rode Joseph's aXX  all the way to Bethlehem."
