So yesterday I had my visa medical. Very smooth process. I actually ended up staying over at the Holiday Inn Express Oxford circus, which is actually on the same block as the visa medical building. Literally like a one minute walk.

as of this morning there still wasn’t any interview appointments available, but my wife was checking all the way home in the car refreshing the page and wouldn’t you believe November dates were released!! Needless to say we booked immediately, so as of right now, my interview will be November 16th. We could have gotten earlier but since Wales will be in a 2 week fire lockdown next week, November 16th gives us time to get through that and see what the situation is.

Had my interview earlier today and was approved. The whole process took about 30 minutes and, in line with what others have said, was painless. I’ll post a review up shortly.

Many thanks to the people on this forum who assisted with my questions and queries. Good luck to those of you still waiting!

Thank you! Hopefully you’ll hear some good news too.

I’ve posted my review here: https://www.visajourney.com/reviews/view-dos-cis-reviews.php?entry=28700

One thing I forgot to mention was that I was not asked to provide any proof that my wife was going to be re-establishing domicile, nor was I asked anything about health insurance.

Ditto on the above. Nothing about insurance or any of it.

Hi all!

I couldn't find this information anywhere and was hoping someone could give a breakout of the total costs I should expect for the whole DCF process filing for a spouse here in London. We've already paid the initial application fee of $535 - but what kind of costs should I expect for the medical, interview, other visa fees, etc? Thanks so much 🙂

Hi Andy,

The Visa Medical is 350GBP (adults - 140GBP for children) and has to be done by the approved office in London (https://visamedicals.co.uk/united-states/) note: you can only book this once you have an LND number.

The Visa itself is then $325 the day you do your interview at the embassy.

I think that's all the official costs, obviously there is travel, accommodation etc if you don't live in London. I also had to get official translations of documents so if you have anything that's not in English you'll need to pay for that too.

Have you gotten special permission to file DCF in London? They're not accepting routine applications anymore without a reason to expedite through the embassy.

I think my list is still valid.

$325 visa fee (pay cashier at embassy)

$120 affidavit of support review (NVC)

£55 police certificate (ACRO)

£350 medical (Visa Medicals) pay at the appointment

$30 or $0 (Courier) home delivery or pick up at depot

$220 Immigrant fee after you get the visa (USCIS ELIS)
