Hi guys i was admitted to the us through k1 visa

i got married and i applied for my green card and work permit as in one package.

my question is how long does it take to get my work permit ( EAD ) after my fingerprints have been taken?

No i think u misunderstood my question

i mean only the work permit not the green card because i know the green card takes long to get but like i have seen many websites say like 90 days to get your work permit.

because my visa is about to expire as you know k1 visa only for 90 days so after that you can’t do anything in the us, ur us visa will be expired as you said 5 to 7 months

they should adjudicated within 90 days from the day of filing give or take . if you dont get your EAD you just have to wait or watch netflix

I understood you.  5.5-7.5 months is the current processing time for the EAD/AP combo card, when filed with AOS.  Green card interviews are taking closer to one year.

That used to be the old rule.

Nowadays it's just praying that lady luck is on your site so that you can start working sooner rather than later.

I haven't seen it take 90 days, and I've been here for a long time.  Last year, ours took 135 days, which was the fastest in our group here on VJ.

I don't think you've got the details of how the K-1 works:  You have 90 days within which to marry.  It is a one-time use visa.  Once married, you are technically out of status until AOS is filed, and once that is filed, it is a period of authorized stay.

My EAD took about 4 months, but the official processing times is 5.5 to 7.5 months.

You visa has no value since the day you entered the US. Your I-94 has a validity of 90 days, which is the deadline to get married.
