I wanted to tell everyone here that we can get a Real ID before the work authorization card and it will be issued for 1 year from marriage date.

they will look at expiration of K1 and say that’s the date until they speak to a supervisor and then learn that it’s 1 year from marriage certificate.  We were able to obtain a real-I’d, non-driver at white plains DMV and a permit at Bronx DMV by Fordham for 1 year.

Just received an update that our Case is Ready to be Scheduled for An Interview! I'm managing my expectations for our New York City office but I'm pumped!

I guess we should start working on that evidence just in case. 😉

Cheers to everyone else receiving good news soon.

Thank you!!

I haven't added my husband to anything besides health insurance and retirement accounts because the New York City office tends to take much longer than everywhere else. We will now start working on opening our joint bank account, adding his name to utilities, etc, just in case the interview is scheduled in the next few months.

Hi! Just adding myself into this conversation as I'm in New York and your timelines all seem similar to mine. Applied in November (11/18/2019), case ready to be scheduled for interview (01/31/2019). Hopefully hear something soon at least in reference to EAD card as I'm going insane not being able to work!
