How long it takes to get an interview depends on your country/consulate, if you are in India I think it is around 3-4 months right now last that I heard

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

October 11 2020: Arrived in US!

I have paid my IV fee on Dec. 13. It has been more than a week, but the CAEC still shows as in process and I am not able to access DS260. Also the consulate office was changed during this period per my request.  Is there anything I need to worry?

I heard that it can  take up to 4  weeks. but mine took 2days for iv fees to show paid and still waiting for my AOS to clear

Hi!!! I send all my documents on November 1st and nothing yet. Can’t wait to get the interview for my husband. I live in NJ with our little boy and I’m pregnant, the baby is coming in February and nothing yet from nvc 😩 I don’t understand why they take so long. 7 weeks already. Anybody know if they will be close for a week ou just for Christmas? God Bless us all.

Couples with kids or expecting should have a special (quicker) treatment.

Have you tried to call them?

They close only on Dec25th and January 1rst (but the process may slow down a bit because - probably - lots of agents take few days of break at this time of the year).

Take care, don't stress oK?

You should have asked for expedited processing based on your pregnancy. Did that for my case and it took a month from my request approval date to interview.

It took us  more than 3 months for this change. It was a long story. Basically, they wanted proof that the consular office haeve our case's jurisiction. They first told me that as long as the office aceept our case, it should be fine. After I sent in the proof that the consular office would accept our case, they told us that only principal applicant's country of citizenship, residential or last resididential place if lives in the US have the jurisdiction. The NVC also put our case on hold for three months and did n't issue IV fee bill. I had to contact the Congressmen in order to move this case forward.
