I just check my case status again on CEAC. It says “ready”! But I’m assuming we just continue to wait, right? We didn’t get any communication from the embassy yet or a P3.

Yes, you must wait for the Packet 3 email with instructions before you can schedule an appointment. My fiance is living in Dubai and I just received the Packet 3 email today! Abu Dhabi consulate received our file Dec 28, so it took a little over 2 weeks (17 days), even with the holidays, to receive the P3. Good luck!

How lucky! Our NOA2 is December 20 but NVC still doesn't have our case when I called last night. 😫 I thought they send the approved cases chronologically? Any insights, @Greenbaum?

Nothing in this process is done in chronological order. If it were, tell me why you should wait on someone who is stuck because they are missing a document and that one case will hold up thousands. I don't think so.

If you read the PDF file, I address this issue. It's 30 some days to NVC. 1-3 weeks (maybe more) to assign a case file. Files are distributed throughout all the agents and nothing is chronological.

It’s been a couple of weeks since my case# was assigned and it’s still at the NVC.  Hope they ship it out soon.  I’m planning on helping my fiancee with all the paperwork when i visit her in a couple of weeks.  Would like to fill out the DS-160, but I guess we can’t submit it until we receive the Packet 3?

Now would be a good time to call them. First thing Monday morning and then every day after that.

Congratulations. NVC should have your case this week but we are seeing 1-3 weeks for case numbers to be assigned. Contact information is in the PDF on the first page, first post. You can begin calling anytime you would like to but don't be surprise if it's not issued for another week or so.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thank you very much . I called NVC and they gave me case number yesterday on 13th January. My fiance got his police clearance certificate from India and UK.

Thank you so much.

Goodmorning @Greenbaum i am at the moment filling in my DS160 and there is a question that i need your guidance.

-Previous US travel information  says - Provide information on all U.S. visits. I have been travelling to the US for the past 20 years. Do i actually put the 20 years of travel or just what is on my last 10 year visa? question seem clear but just want to be sure. Thanks in advance for your help.

The word that sticks out for me is "ALL" U.S. visits. So my answer is yes. Do you have a I-94? If not get one from here https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home where it should list your entrances and exists. If you don't remember the exact dates then use month and year for the entry and exit answers.

Don't do anything in advance until the case is ready at embassy and the embassy sends you an email to the petitioner to follow these steps for Scheduling interview, Medical exam, police clearance etc.  Usually takes about 2 months to receive.

You should go to your sub-forum website here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/97-middle-east-and-north-africa/ and here is a recent thread for some who are processing a K-1 and their recent experience (see below).

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

Thank you. that is a sure task. i94 not up-to-date showing me last visit to be August when i visited 3 times after that and the last being December. Also my old passport dates are very blurry now, so i will go ahead and estimate the dates.

Thanks again.
