DS-160 SOCIAL MEDIA HELP!

Hi everyone,

 

I was wondering if someone could possibly give me some guidance in regards to the social media section of the DS-160 form.

 

I've filled out as many social media accounts as I can and its starting to freak me out as one of the social media websites I have used in the past 5 years is the site, Twitter. Last year I deleted my account and now it is nowhere to be found online. I don't remember my social media handle or anything, but I'm terrified of leaving it out of my form in case they bring it up down the line and wonder why I deleted it! (For context, I deleted it for my mental well-being. Far too much negativity going around!)

 

Any sort of of help would be gratefully appreciated and would help to calm me down.

Have a look through your email archives to see if you’ve got any notifications back when you had the account. I have a Twitter account that I never use but every mont it so I get an email saying “Hey, TwitterName, take a look at what’s new” and so on. I delete them but they can still be accessed from the archives.

Hi there!

 

The issue is that I deleted my entire account. It no longer exists, so I don't get those kind of emails anymore, however it has been within the last 5 years if that makes sense?

That’s what I mean. Look back 5 years ago in your archives. You are expected to make more effort than just “I can’t remember the user name”.

I have no sign of emails anywhere, sadly. Already checked!

List that you had a Twitter account that was closed over 5 years ago and that you have no recollections as to the nickname or password. I doubt you are the first nor will you be the last. You will not be denied for missing one especially since you where honest in that you had one but can't access it.

Being from UK this is not as important as someone from say,  Morocco,  that we dealt with

it is a tool immigration can use to deny when a beneficary is thought to be hiding things and is from a high fraud country

the document says "all social media"   and this is the catch all for some who blantanttly will lie on the form not knowing it is easy to research a phone number for all email ID's 

List that you had one, as said above,  and can not remember the ID
