Is it okay to fill out i129f form with pen?

will it delay my application if i were to fill out my i129f form with a black ink pen? I initially was going to fill i out online but the online application has a few areas where the text boxes don't work and they dont allow you to type anything. I can't even sign my name at the end because the box to type my name in doesn't work. So I'm wondering if it would cause any problems if I just filled out the form in pen and submitted it that way? I just think it would avoid a lot of headaches and delays if I just did it in pen.

 

(I know in the instructions it says that you can fill it out in pen, but I do have  a slightly older version (from 2018) so it's possible that the requirements have changed, and I know that the us embassy is very strict about certain things regarding how the app is filled out)

Just make sure you have the most up to date form.

Consulate Received : 10/6/14 CEAC status changed to ready

Packet 3 Received : 10/27/14 packet received by petitioner in USA ( beneficiary never received packet 3)

Medical: 10/30/14 Dr. Buteau                  Medical picked up: 11/3/14

Packet 3 Sent : 11/10/13.. Had to schedule interview appointment and attach confirmation receipt to packet

Interview Date : 12/1/14                           Interview Result : Approved !

Visa Received : 12/10/14 picked up at Jacmel location

US Entry : 12/15/14 Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Apply for Social Security Card: 12/30/14 Connecticut

Marriage: 1/26/15

It's allowed. However, it's usually much easier to read typed text, so unless it's not possible to type a correct answer into a field, I'd recommend typing (for non-Roman alphabet text like a fiance(e)'s name or address in his or her native alphabet, have your fiance(e) send you an email or other message with the right answer and copy and paste).

If you are using an outdated version of the I-129f form, it will be rejected at the lockbox.

How would I get the most up to date version? Because this is the version that shows up on the embassy website.

Always get USCIS forms from https://www.uscis.gov/forms ; this will always be the current version when you download it, and they may inform you if a new version is coming soon.
