GETTING MARRIED IN MOROCCO

I have been dating a guy younger guy from Morocco for almost two years. He is 27. I am from the United States and I am 52. I have visited him twice and I will be traveling in March 2020 to visit him again. I have met his family and close friends. His family sends me messages just to see how I'm doing as well as pictures. We have lots of pictures and videos of our relationship  and the different cities we visited in Morocco. We have discussed getting married. Would it be best to apply for the K-1 visa or get married in Morocco and apply for the spousal visa? Which process we would have a better chance of getting approved.

Agree with the others.......CR-1 spousal visa.

CR-1
Slightly slower arrival in the US (currently about 5 months later)

    Less expensive than K-1
    No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required.
Spouse can immediately travel outside the US
Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival.
Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US
Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport.

Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.

Even with the CR-1, you will want to do a lot of reading and research, given that age difference.  Casablanca is known to be a very difficult consulate even for cases without large red flags.

I agree with everyone else.  Go for the spousal visa.  That is what we did.  Casablanca is a difficult consulate so you need LOTS of time spent together.

If you decide to get married in Morocco make sure you give yourself plenty of time.  I know a lot of people got it done in 2 weeks or so.  But it depends.  It took us 2 1/2 months to get married.  I can give you an idea of what you need to take with you if you go to get married there.

Good luck in your journey.  It is a difficult journey but so worth it in the end.  My husband has been here in the US for 4 years and he is a Citizen now.  So do a lot of reading and studying about the process and about the process specific to Casablanca.  I am happy to answer any questions you can.  I was on here years ago and was clueless what to do.  A couple of wonderful ladies helped me understand the process and also how to get married in Morocco.  I am happy to help you if I can.

Hello, could you please tell me what documents I would need in order to marry my fiance here in Morocco. I am a U.S citizen. Thank you! <3

I remember when you get to Morocco you have to get a paper from the US Embassy (can't remember what it is called) and you have to get a police report from Rabat.  Your fiancé needs to check with his local court about what is needed.  In my case I had to bring with me:  birth certificate, marriage certificate (from ex husband) divorce certificate, local police records checks, a letter from my employer stating how much I make.  I think that is all I had to bring.  But be sure your fiancé checks with his local court.  Good luck!
