One of the ways to perfect a name change is to use it on all applications post marriage

YMMV

If the intending immigrant changed his or her name through marriage, he or she should apply in that name. That way his or her green card and EAD/AP combo card (if applied for) will be in the new name. Also, government mail addressed to the new name is evidence of residence.

Also helpful - put the US citizen spouse's name on the care of line for your mailing address with all documents, whether they're in the intending immigrant's former or new name. This may keep USPS from getting confused and not delivering things (my wife's Social Security card was stuck at the post office for almost a week because they didn't realize Anastasia [former last name] lived at my address now).

If that is the name she wishes to have on her Green Card...then yes)

Not a newbie but lost my old info years ago) I have been through this process before --all the way through naturalization-- This site has always been a great help to me.
