Is it online only now? When I lived there (2005-2006) it was a newspaper you could buy. I didn't know this.

As regards male feminists, yes, there are manly, non-soy boy types out there. I told him about this line of conversation on here and he's asked me to stop winding myself up defending him, he knows what he is and he's comfortable with it. He doesn't want me getting bent out of shape, he says, if it's upsetting me, especially since he isn't around at the moment. So I'll stop.

Sorry, I just miss him.

So he's controlling you from afar, eh?  Interesting, not what I would have expected from a male feminist.  Nor from a free-spiritedass such as yourself.

You DO realize,  don't you,  that most men are feminists?  I can't think of any regular posters here in CEHST who are not.  Well, maybe one male poster who isn't a feminist.

But you assign the term to Al like it's a rare badge of honor.  It's not.  It's the norm.

Do you regularly call yourself one? I thought you told me the other day I shouldn't even make an issue of calling myself one. It isn't in my experience something I hear a lot of men say so it is notable to me that he does. And I respect him for it. Glad to hear you are one too. There need to be more of us.

You realise calling a Male a Feminist/Soy Boy is an insult? And I am defending him.

I'm NOT calling him a soy boy. I AM calling him a feminist.

Perhaps we should clarify which wave. I am talking about 3rd wave or beyond.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Not controlling. He's just worried about me when he can't be around. Saturday mornings have been our special time for the nearly a year since I moved up here. And I'm alone today. Just a little sad, that's all. I'm taking his advice, getting out of bed and going to get on with the rest of the day.

No, I don't go around calling myself a feminist.  There is no need. My very actions show that I support women.  I also don't go around calling myself a pro-American, patriot, intelligent person, supporter of military, or anti-socialist though I am very much so all of those too.  I don't need a label(s) to define me.  I am who I am, and am very comfy with my position in life.

I don't need a label to make me a better person.  I'm just me.  And I try to treat everyone I meet with respect and friendliness, unless/until they prove they are unworthy.

What we do here is FAR from upsetting (for most of us).  I haven't detected in you the snowflake gene, so I think you'll be just fine talking to us lower life forms.  😁

Thank you. I'm generally okay on here and can take care of myself, but I'm just a little in my own head this morning. Too much with myself, is that the phrase? There's a lot on my mind relating to my personal life so please excuse the touchiness.

Took a shower, put on my clothes and makeup, did my hair and going to work now. It's really the best way to deal with it: getting through. :star: Oh, and alcohol helps too.

Well, I'll make sure to pick up a box of Franzia and make a toast just to you some time around 7. ❤️

It's also good for after work. I've opened the bottle of cheapie sparkling wine I bought at Whole Foods on the way home. I'm feeling FAR more relaxed than I was an hour ago, especially after I finished off what was leftover of the last bottle of cheapie sparkling wine from Whole Foods that was hanging out in my fridge door. Oh, and the Last Word cocktail I had after work. Gin is always problematic but Last Words are delicious.

Who knows, maybe after this glass I might be able to stop myself from oversharing for a change because I've passed out!  :D

Not judging,  but I'm pretty sure drinking and driving in CA isn't legal.  I used to have so much more respect for you...
