Seriously though. You could drop an entire roasted turkey in front of him and he wouldn't so much as care.

Different dog from typical.

With cats, if it isn't "their food," they play with it.

I, however, would be tempted to drop to the floor and dine heartily.

Chimpanzees are known to eat meat, be it known.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Yeah, it’s kind of annoying but just their nature. Our cat will “steal” food if it’s unguarded long enough, but she doesn’t eat it. She stole a burger the other day and she was just pushing it around on the kitchen floor making a mess.

Some dogs eat to live, and some live to eat. And he is my second finicky poodle, of which I'm told is common. I am convinced this one lived in a cat environment and probably was only ever given cat food or human scraps. When he came to us emaciated he ate dog food until he got the weight put back on, then stopped. His daily desire to eat is greatly affected by his mood, who is home in the house, the shape of the dish, food touching other food, or if it smells ''real''. Most dog foods are made stinky to supposedly be palatable. Ha. He won't go near it.

Every dog we have ever had has been an eating machine. I used to give our dog a hot dog once in a while just to hear the whoosh, gulp and silence and watch the tail wag as the hot dog disappeared instantly. Surprised I still have all my fingers though. There were a few close calls.

My wife likes to say it's a Russian Blue, but I think it's a grey mix. We got her from the shelter so unlikely to be a pure breed. She's a crazy good bug catcher though, so she earns her keep and get's a free pass for stolen hamburgers.

Nice.  I haven't had a cat in years, but when I get one again, I want a Savannah, Bengal, or similar.

We were looking for a Bengal at one time but they are hard to find. People say they act like dogs a bit which appealed to me. I've heard they are not the greatest with kids though.

My kids are grown and gone, and others" kids can be kept at a distance with one of those beauties!  😁  Cats are pretty cool.  Dogs too, but I think I'm more of a cat person.

So Al and I discussed via Hangouts this morning if he would support me if I quit my job and adopted a 1950s housewife lifestyle. Here is the exchange lightly edited:

A: so does this involve you staying home

L: Yes

A: and you will be there when I get home

L: Yes

A: and you cook for me every day

L: Yes

A: do you have to wear shoes

L: ...

L: Why?

A: hush woman

A: barefoot in the kitchen hm

A: make it naked in the kitchen and we have a deal

L: But things can spatter when I'm cooking, what if I get burned? What if I spill something?

A: stop ruining this fantasy

L: Can I wear an apron?

A: stop

L: But I'll need to have all the curtains closed all the time

A: offer withdrawn, back to work

I don't see what's so wrong here... He doesn't REALLY want me to do anything I don't want to do. And that includes being naked in the kitchen.

I would never be naked in the kitchen. At the very least I'd be wearing my Chucks.

Did he SAY he was kidding? Did he SAY he would never expect this from you?

By itself, yes of course, it doesn't say everything about the state of your relationship. It's just that there are SO many of these red flag situations that come up.

Well, I know that he's just joking. He's a fully paid up feminist, he tells me. It's just flirty banter -- he knows that it infuriates me so he's teasing me into getting a little irritated because apparently I get very cute when I'm mad. (So he says.) But also I play up how infuriated I am because he thinks it's cute. I guess it's role play? (And I find the wrestling moves kinda sexy sometimes, except the one time when I struggled a little and ended up whacking my head on the wall. Lesson learned -- submit!)

I just don't see it as a red flag. It's just fun and games.
