I was happy that NOA2 took only 2 months and thought it would go even faster after that.
I am concerned about the doctor's office closing for the holidays and then my interview gets delayed, but I guess I should just stop overthinking haha

Could anyone tell please should choose option 5 or 7 when calling NVC for case number status?

 

the PDF says 1 for English, then 7 (or 5, but I would go 7 as they would tell you if you should call 5 instead after they receive your case.)

Over thinking this process can lead to hallucinations. Be careful.

I can't answer your question as I haven't called in some time. Maybe someone who has recently called can help us understand the quickest way to someone on the phone. Once that is exposed then i can update the PDF file. Thanks for asking the question.

I created a PDF file that address's many of your concerns so that you do not have to ask as we have answered most of these types of questions over and over. In the PDF your answer is number 9. PDF can be access from the first page of this thread, second entry. It will explain why you are where you are and when you can expect to be on your way to your embassy. Hope this helps.

Checking on your embassy case number from NVC: It will take 30 days (some sooner)  for NVC to receive your file from USCIS after you receive the NOA2, then another 5 - 10 business days for NVC to get your file in their system and produce your case number. Call 9:00 am eastern time for shorter wait times. NVC hours have changed and are now 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.

Yes they are i just clarify which is for immigrant and which is for non immigrant calls.

I just called them. I called at 9 am today and was on hold for a little more than an hour. Got through the voicemail to the different one on the 9th try.

It's still 7 that you have to push to talk to a representative. Or at least, that's what I did.

It means you must complete your interview by that date (Feb 22, 2020). The NOA2 is good for one year but they want you to complete your interview within that four month initial period. You can get an extension through the embassy but you BETTER have a good excuse. Just saying.

Scheduling the interview can take 1 to 3 months. Once you pay the $265 visa fee at GTB Bank, you can go online to schedule an appointment at www.ustraveldocs.com You can get the forms online at http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html No need to go to the consulate to pick up forms. Download forms if unexpired or get current versions of same forms. Email LagosIV@state.gov for your interview date.

Wet signatures are no longer required for I-134 for your Nigeria interview. You are able to send in scanned documents.

 

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy.
