Wall Street to everybody: We'll back Trump.

If you're in the business of making money, it's the only sensible thing to do.

Considering the plan Senator Warren is proposing, is this any surprise.

How well could it work for them? It's coal and we are in the 21st century. Even Trump can't change reality. He tried. Coal is more expensive than renewable energy in most parts of the country.

We will never see another coal plant built. As the existing plants close, that will be it. In the end it will come down to cost. Sort of comes full circle as we discuss what capitalists might support.

Capitalism operates on greed. You owe your livelihood, the roof over your head, the food on your plate to greed. I know it's fashionable to hate the people who drive this economy, but without them you and your family would be on the street or worse. Take a moment to thank a greedy capitalist today. (you're welcome)

Thankfully I owe my livelihood to the poor sisters of charity. Greedy buggers that they are.

We may not, but coal plants are still being built globally, and coal is still a source of energy.  My point is that these Wall Street types are finally waking up to how socialist the Democrats are and how committed they appear to be with income redistribution.

Well, Warren IS a capitalist. I know many people don't want to believe this, but she is. She wants markets to work for more than just the very richest people, the most powerful people. She has spoken about how before deregulation in the 80s, when protections put in place in the 30s were in full effect, more people shared in more of the wealth generated by the market. That's just not the case anymore. Look, I'm very comfortable. I'm a young woman still and I never have to work again if I don't have to. I'm lucky. My money works for me. But why should I benefit unduly from essentially winning the lottery? I'll just keep making money for doing nothing. How is that a market that works for everyone?

Umm, the markets actually do work for more than just the evil rich.  Her proposals for taxing the rich as well as the folks that make up, or utilized the goods or services of corporations do not sound very capitalist to me. As to yourself, you are under no obligation in taking your ex’s money.  It is also interesting how many of the super rich claim they should pay more taxes.  If they want, they could simply send more money to the IRS, it is their choice which should not be imposed on others.

When you want to take my money and spread it around to people who didn't earn it, that's not capitalism dear.

The money that makes you comfortable and work unnecessary didn't just appear in your bank account. It was generated in a market that created jobs, opportunities, products, and growth. You are at the very end of a very long chain of events. Your money has already done its work. If you choose to sit on it the rest of your life, it's not ideal, but it's not wrong either. If you choose to put it back to work, that's even better. But when a Democrat comes along and wants to take it out of your hands to put it into some social system, what they have done is taken a dollar and turned it into a penny. These socialists kill wealth, not create it. Don't be fooled.

Well, this is where the liberal stops, and the capitalist begins. Everybody has their price, even our lovely local liberal ladies. ;)

That would be turning dollars into micro-pennies. These rich people, if they really want to put their money to work for the less fortunate, should be investing it. The IRS is a terrible investment, but investing in an opportunity that creates wealth, jobs, and prosperity is solid, and everyone wins. Everyone who wants to work, and not suck at the teat of socialism anyway.

It's not YOUR money that I have. I earned it, every penny.

So if the regulations that were responsible for lifting a lot of ships pre-deregulation are so evil, why in a post-deregulation world are so few benefiting?

Yes, I realize the likes of Gates or Buffet only say that as a means to sound compassionate, or to keep the Leftist off their backs.  These folks did not get where they are by throwing away money.
