@F3-from Toronto The medical doctor do ask for original passport. You can email the doctor and explain the situation and also provide the photo copy of the passport. On the side note you should not have given your original passport for PCC (even though they ask for it, because it is simply absurd for them to ask).

@B-Pat @tru How was your interview?

Hello All,

My interview was at 9:45AM, I would say reach at the Building no more than 5 minutes. You will find line up in front of building outside. Even reaching exactly on time will work too.

No bags or belongings allowed except of wallet and phone along your file folder or papers, they will provide small locker to put the phone in.

At the security check u will be given 2 tokens with same number. After security screening you will be asked to take elevator and go to floor 1 which is the consulate office.

Here there will be screen that will display your number. windows 6-10 are for the documents verification and fingerprints.
I had my all documents uploaded on the account after i got the interview letter.
Spouse updated I-864, Recent W2+Tax Return since her recent transcript is not generated yet, job offer letter.
My Updated PCC for home and foreign country, my status change document.

Since i had updated all of my documents before attending the interview, officer at the first window Appreciated since it saved her lot of time. She just asked me for my passport, original Birth Certi, marriage Certi and Original PCCs. She took one passport size photo scanned it and returned it back to me.

She put my passport, Birth Certi marriage certi and PCCs in one file, took my fingerprints and asked me basic questions like my marriage date, if my current address is still the same, spouse address, and informed me that my medical expires on … date so i have to enter States before that date. She asked me this to put it on the paper that she put along with my documents file.

She told me that in short time i will get my number on screen for interview. That interview would be on windows 1-5.

I got my number in about 20-25 mins.
Officer asked me petitioner name and relation.
He asked me where we met and when.
Than he asked me where my spouse lives currently in US. And he just said he approves the visa and told me that they will get the sticker on passport in a day or two and ship it out to me.
Officer was nice and returned me the originals except of passport.

In total very nice experience, no hassle, just upload everything ahead of time before going to interview and it was less than an hour in total for me from security check till the completion of interview. In 50 minutes approximately i was out of the building.

Thank you

Totally agree with you, holding the passports does not make sense. I'll call the doctor tmw and find out. Thank you for your advise 2 weeks ago on re-applying for RCMP PCC which I did last week, at least that is on the way. We have about 2 months to the interview and hopefully the documents arrive on time.

For interview the passport photos which are required, do you need any time & date stamp from where you got photos as it doesn't mention in the nvc interview docs email. Did anyone have any issues

Hello,

Visa Interview (F2B) was successful. My appointment was at 8:15 AM. reached early, (stayed literally within the block) at 7:30 which is also the time the Embassy opens up.  Security Personnel looked at the managing personnel (Indian), who rolled her eyes and let me in anyways. Wont go into the security detailing procedures, since  @Trushal Patel and a lot many have explained in detail in this thread anyways. Was first up in the line of interviews for the day. Climbed up, and my token was shortly announced in a matter of minutes. If your DS-260 has been clear and the same from the day it was approved, (no matter how long ago, it was approved), the first part of the interview (where, you're called to submit your docs) should be pretty smooth and brief.  I was only asked for an updated RCMP clearance, passport picture, passport, birth certificate and latest tax forms and W2s from your petitioner and sponsor, if you have one. Rest of the stuff just included confirming details regarding me and the petitioner ( in my case, my father).

After that was complete, I was summoned again for the main interview in a matter of minutes. The officer was a jolly, middle aged gentleman. Here are the questions I as asked after being asked to take the oath:

Who's petitioning for you?

Are you single? (as relevant to the type of visa)

Where's your petitioner staying now?

Since my father had been residing in Boston, he found some common ground and we chatted about his hockey games in the town he'd played, in. Amongst other things, we'd talked about Boston, its beer, Southies, and Mark Wahlberg.

Shortly after that, I was asked when was the last time I was in the US and how long. I was there in the US (student visa and subsequently OPT) for about 6 years before immigrating to Canada. I said, "Well I was there on a student visa..." where I sweetly cut off by nodding and "Oh perfect..",  followed by "No, illegal presence /, or anything of that sort?", I said No, "perfect, your visa's been approved, Thanks". He handed me the paper for the courier instructions. I was off the premises before actual interview appointment time had even started.  Most of the interview time, we made more small talk than talking about the real thing. Was fun and quick.

I got the email from the embassy about my visa (passport) being dispatched to to the Courier (Canada Post) the same day, and an email from Canada Post confirming the same. Receiving my passport in less then 3 days. (because of the weekend)

My Warm Thanks to all the people in this thread who have previously shared detailed accounts of their experiences. Its helped me to make important decisions and be updated about the process.

Post successful interview, does anybody see goof-ups in the visa appointment service tracker website? Currently the details (passport dispatched, though yet in transit with the courier) in the applicant section show a wrong entry in my case. The "Visa Class" field shows a B2 Tourism / Medical Treatment Visa instead of a F2B immigrant entry visa. sure this is not unheard of.
