Hello family I had my interview today in Accra Ghana every was fine until the police report I have from Nigeria. The CO  don't understand the document so she told me every other thing is fine but she need to verify from the us embassy in Nigeria . my question is, is this a normal thing and how long will this take I'm not so happy at the moment about this at all it was unexpected.

One of the issues when you interview other than on your home country, unlikely that Ghana would know much about Nigerian documentation so would need to get them confirmed.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

As long as the police report was authentic, I don't see any problem.......You might be in administrative processing for a while........watch for the status to change to "Issued".  That is the only real indication of approval.

Just to let you understand there are many internet posts about "official documents from Nigeria and forgeries "  so Ghana is obligated to check .

this is just one news article to give an example but google "fake documents from Nigeria "  and you will see the issue

https://guardian.ng/saturday-magazine/discomfort-over-nigerians-continuous-involvement-in-certificates-documents-forgery/

Not saying yours is a problem or fake but it is why the Ghana embassy has to check

Best wishes to you for a good life here
