always read the portal for your country  to see experience of those from Tunisia

also look thru the embassy reviews to see what to expect at the embassy interview

After NVC sends your packet out,  they no longer can see what the status is

when the embassy is ready for an interview ,  they will contact you and tell you what is needed (the criminal report,  dr appointment and any other originals that they need to see in support of the visa)

the embassy staff will not be ready to schedule your interview till they go thru your packet,  enter into the computer and look over your application to see exactly what documents you will need to bring to support your case

this will not happen fast as there are too many ahead of you waiting as you can see if check the portal here by clicking on the word "portal" at the top of the home page .

While you are waiting to get this all sorted out in your head, I've done some research for you.

1.) If your on a pc select your flag from your completed profile in the left column.  Lots of information their to get educated with.

2.) Search out the thread called JUL TO AUG 2019 K1 NOA2 TO NVC THREAD.  Read the pdf on the first page first post.

3.) 1. Completed Form DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. You (and any eligible children applying for K-2 visas) must: (1) complete Form DS-160 and (2) print the DS-160 confirmation page to bring to your interview.
    • A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the U.S. (unless country-specific agreements provide exemptions).
    • Divorce or death certificate(s) of any previous spouse(s) for both you and the U.S. citizen sponsor
    • Police certificates from your present country of residence and all countries where you have lived for six months or more since age 16 (Police certificates are also required for accompanying children age 16 or older)
    • Medical examination (vaccinations are optional, see below)
    • Evidence of financial support (Form I-134, Affidavit of Support, may be requested)
    • Two (2) 2x2 photographs. See the required photo format explained in Photograph Requirements
    • Evidence of relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e)
    • Payment of fees, as explained below
Note: The consular officer may ask for additional information, such as photographs and other proof that the relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) is genuine. Documents in foreign languages, other than the language of the country in which the application takes place, should be translated. Applicants should take to the visa interview clear, legible photocopies of civil documents and translations, such as birth and divorce certificates. Original documents and translations will be returned.

These are only the basic items. Please check with your Embassy Instructions for further requirements. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/list-of-posts-k1-k3-visas.html

Hi everyone

my status in the NVC for my case changed to ready since the 8 of August and i sent a e-mail to schedule my interview and they never answered! Today i got a e-mail from the embassy says “Thank you for your email. Please be advised that as soon as we receive your case form the National Visa Center, we will contact you with you interview date and time“

so I called them and they said we don’t have your case yet! And i was like so what is the ready status mean them in the NVC ! They said it means they are done from their job and we don’t have your physical Case.

I called the NVC they said we sent it and you have to call the embassy!

Anyone have a idea about what is going on?

18 days since my status changed to ready for now.

thank you.

Hi.  Did you get your case number & completed the DS-160 form?  Once you pay visa fee,  you should be able to schedule your own interview online or by calling NVC.
