Not sure if this is the right topic here and I apologize if this is off topic. Does anyone here applied for GE and still waiting for conditional approve?

I applied first week of May 2019 but still no update. I will travel internationally 2 months from now and I'm hoping I could get an approval before I fly.

If anyone here on the same boat or if anyone gone through the process recently, please comment here.

Muchos! Gracias! :)

My first application took about 3 months to the interview at my local airport, but my renewal after 5 years was much faster, I want to say 2-3 weeks. 3-4 months on the first application seems to be the norm. As a side note, if they have Mobile passport at the airport you are returning to I would use that. It is faster than Global Entry most of the time when I use that.

I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

What questions do they ask in the interview for global entry?

It was a pretty simple 10 minutes. Just a few questions about the application, and they kinda went over how the program works. I did the interview like 7 years ago, so I'm not sure if it has changed much. Maybe someone who has done it more recently can post. Why it is even required I don't know, I guess they want to make sure you are a real person. I didn't need to do an interview when I renewed, I think it's just a one time thing.

Thank you both, I'm really hoping I can get an interview and approval before I fly.

I don't want to deal with too much hassle and the fact that I have to be at the airport early because of long line for check in luggage and TSA. Especially when coming back knowing how busy JFK airport is.

I will try the mobile passport as an interim if in case I still don't get the interview and approval.

My interview experienced for Global Entry:

My appointment was yesterday at 4:30pm, I arrived at the JFK airport an hour early than my appointment.

I'm hesitant to get in since I'm an hour early to my appointment. I approached the lady at the door and asked if that is the right location for the Global Entry application, she said yes and asked me to get in.

I told her that my appointment is at 4:30pm, she said it's fine and I can seat inside as long as I have an appointment, I showed to her my appointment and she said you're good please log in here.

After I logged in she told me to go at the waiting area with some people waiting as well. After 10 minutes of waiting an Asian guy called my name and told me to follow to his office.

After entering his office he asked me to show to him my US passport and driver's license, he checked my passport information versus the one on his computer, he did the finger print and took a picture as well.

He asked as well for my complete name, birth date and current address.

He then discussed about the Global Entry program which I 'm already aware, then he asked couple questions:

Did you violate any federal law?

Did you commit any crimes?

These are the only questions I remembered but I believe it was 4 questions which I responded NO to all of them.

After the questions he said, I will approved your application today, you can start using your GE once you got the email approval.

I thanked him and he asked me if I have questions and I said no and he escorted me outside. I got the email approval after 30 minutes of my interview while I'm on my way home.

It's like less 10 minutes interview which is mainly a verification based on your application. I was out at 4:00pm though my interview was set at 4:30pm.

So far it's a good experienced and workers are nice and friendly. :)

I know I'm thinking waaaay ahead, but anyone knows what happens to my Global Entry once my N400 has been approved?

My N400 is expected to be completed on May 2020, and I already have a Global Entry (tied to my Green Card). I'd still have 3+ years left.

I probably should worry about this ONCE I have a US Passport.....but I'm a masochist. I like to stress myself out way before. 😑

K1 Visa:

11-07-2012: I-129F sent

05-31-2013: Packet 3 received

10-23-2013: Packet 3 sent

11-19-2013: Interview

04-07-2014: POE Boston

05-07-2014: Got married after 12 years of LDR! :dancing:

AOS:

10-10-2014: Filed (together with combo EAD/AP)

10-27-2014: NOA received

12-10-2014: Request for Initial Evidence (RFI) received

11-12-2014: Biometrics Appt

02-03-2015: RFI received by USCIS

02-25-2015: Notice of Potential Interview Waiver Case letter received

(completely forgot): GC received. Resident since 07/04/2015.

hi, you will have to go to a Global Entry enrollment center to have them delete your GC and add your US passport as the primary ID document.

GE offices do this change on a walk in basis, no appointment needed, except apparently for the NY Bowling Green one. I did mine at JFK airport.

Although other changes to your profile can be made on the trusted traveler website, GC to US Passport is considered a significant change that only a GE center can do in person.

I hope this is helpful.

I had to do the same at the Atlanta airport as I can’t update it online.  The CBP agent added my new passport and I was done in 5 minutes. However the agent didn’t delete my green card information. Now online profile shows I have both lol. Will find out when I travel internationally.

Also the agent entered the wrong passport number. So please triple check online after agent added your new passport.

I think you may have a problem if the GC was not deleted... there's a long thread over at the flyer talk forum about LPR to citizen changes for Global Entry and people posted about problems with the GE machines requesting the GC if it had not been deleted.

Updates....

I did go back to update my documents and checked online.  I have United States with the gold flag under “Citizenship”.  The green card was deleted under the “Permanent Residency” section but in the “proving you may enter the United States.” section, i still see the unexpired green card.  The agent said he can’t delete it but assured me I am all set and won’t have issue using Global Entry.
