We would just love to see that!

Immigration timelines goes up and down all the time it has nothing to do with who is in office.

It's about a 50% longer wait than in 2015.

Georgia16, there ya go. I quoted the wrong percent of time, my bad. Oh and once again, I never said the wait time went up DUE to trump, i said it went up since he went into office. It’s amazing how people jump to a conclusions. Even if Hilary won and the wait went up I’d be using her victory as a reference to mark a time in life to base my point.

Conclusion is the only thing people have when they don't have the whole context. But thanks for clearing that up. If you would have made the reference to Hilary earlier the replies would be the same. It has nothing to do with Hilary, Trump, Obama, or whomever else. Timelines go up and done. Heck, at one point the K3 was created because timelines for spousal visas took too long.

That one can not be used for blaming Trump on the wait times. It is clear that you guys don't know the immigration process then because they go up and down all the time.

True. Yet, that data supports @Georgia16's general statement; "Immigration timelines goes up and down all the time..." Random example: the difference between I-129F and I-130 processing times has gone up and down.

No DCF for Brazil? If you live overseas in some countries you can file the petition at the local USCIS office directly.

No DCF for Brazil unless you can qualify for exceptional circumstances.

Do y’all think it would have made any difference if I filed thru Lima instead of Chicago, or does it all end up on the same place?

How?

Filing directly with the embassy/consulate tends to go faster than filing at the Chicago Lockbox. The caveat in your case is that the Lima Field Office Director (FOD) would have to allow the embassy/consulate to adjudicate the I-130; the Lima FOD would only allow it if they believe exceptional circumstances exist: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Laws/Memoranda/2012/May/DOS-I130May1412.pdf

I’m in the same boat mate. Married in 2017 and moved to Brazil and never took any action. Mom is sick and needs taking care of so we submitted our i-130 the past April. It’s gonna take roughly a year or more. I kick myself for not doing something sooner/pre Trump.

Pre-Trump, post-Trump - it’s been about a year since 2007.

You also need to focus on that pesky support affidavit.  You dont have a US job - you need to lay 6 digits on that counter to sponsor your wife/family.  Good luck

Email the IV unit at the Brazilian Consulate if you feel you meet the exceptional circumstances.   Otherwise file stateside in Chicago.
