Here's our worst nightmare, which I'm sure no one on this forum has had to deal with. I'm in the U.S. and my wife is in Thailand. All she needs is to download and fill out the DS-260, which she did and got the confirmation page. Unfortunately she downloaded the wrong form - the DS-160, a nonimmigrant form. Our only hope, slim as it is, is to pray some entity will allow us to cancel that form and download the DS-260. If anyone has any suggestion as to what we should do, please let me know.

Just do the DS260.   You don't have to do anything with the DS-160.

 

You don;t pay anything until you get to the consulate.

September 25, 2018 Interview in CDJ and Approved!

October 7, 2018 In the USA

October 27, 2018 Green Card received 

October 29, 2018 Applied for Social Security Card - November 5, 2018 Social Security Card received

November 6th, 2018 State ID Card Received, Applied for Global Entry - Feb 8,2019 Approved.

July 14, 2020 Removal of Conditions submitted by mail  July 12, 2021 Biometrics Completed

August 6, 2021 N-400 submitted by mail

September 7, 2021 I-751 Interview, Sept 8 Approved and Card Being Produced

October 21, 2021 N-400 Biometrics Completed  

November 30,2021  Interview, Approval and Oath

December 10, 2021 US Passport Issued

August 12, 2022 PHL Dual Nationality Re-established & Passport Approved 

April 6,2023 Legally Separated - Oh well

Just do the DS-260.

o.k., great! Now, can someone give me the exact link to download the DS260, since I've run into blind alleys in the past few days trying to find it, even though I click USCIS sites that don't lead me there.

DS-260: https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx

You will need your case number to proceed.

It is a form you complete electronically.

 

You are now dealing with visas, which are part of the Department of State (DOS). USCIS no longer is involved with the case.

What do you mean with "Cancel that form"? She never submitted anything rightt?

Here's the latest in The Perils of Pauline mystery tour. Yes, she did receive a confirmation receipt that refers to her DS-160 form. Then she sent me a photo of her Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application Confirmation - her DS- 260!  I saw it and read it! Talk about dodging a bullet! Thanks for all your helpful comments

So she filled out and submitted a non-immigrant DS-160. Then logged in with her case number and filled out and submitted a DS-260? There is no way to fill out a DS-160 and submit it and then get a confirmation for a DS-260. Im not following at all what you are saying

No, she did NOT fill out a 160. I concluded that she did, because she got a confirmation receipt that referred to her 160 application. I have no idea where that confirmation came from. She DID fill out the 260, because they sent her a confirmation letter to that effect.

Let me get this straight

You posted yesterday she accidentally "downloaded" a DS-160 and got a confirmation receipt for a DS-160 but actually got a letter confirming the DS-260.

 

Then 9 hours ago you created a post saying she is bringing documents to the embassy on tuesday

 

Then 5 hours ago you posted that her case in CEAC is showing complete and if she can book an interview
