No reason for BOTH you and your son to file for I-131 (AP, Advance Parole) and I-765 (EAD, Employment Authorization Document) since they're for free. Your son might not be old enough to work, but like Georgia said, with the EAD card your son can get a SSN before his greencard is approved. The greencard can take a very long time, having a SSN in the meanwhile is always a good thing.

What visa are you adjusting status from? This is in the AOS from K-1 forum, which has different requirements (and different fees) than AOS from other visas.

Oops, my bad. Didn’t check the forum location properly. Thanks for the heads up.

So the fees and requirements are different than the ones stated by other members in this thread because I’m adjusting from a B2 visa?

Nope. The answers you got thus far applied to your case actually (the I-130 was the tip-off since that's not needed for AOS from K-1). :)

You don't pay for the I-131 and I-765 when filed with the AOS.  It is in the instructions.

You need to pay for the sons I-130 plus AOS less biometrics

You need to pay for your I-130/130A and AOS

File for the I-131 and I-765 at the same time for both.  No charge.

Check was incorrect. You are supposed to make a check for $1225.00 for adjustment of status.

It's more when a child is included also.

She paid for AP/EAD which she didn't  have too but it's more than $1225 when child is also adjusting.

My son:

File form I-485 (AoS) $750 (no biometric fee)

File form I-130 (AP) $535

I-765 and I-131 are also recommended for him. He can get a SSN after the EAD (or GC) is approved. Never know when an unexpected reason for international travel might come up. Both I-765 and I-131 are free for both of you.
