I'd like to know if I'm just not the only one suffering with a 221(g).

I am the petitioner and have sponsored my husband.

  1. My interview date: April 17, 2019 (The immigration officer asked to submit my tax transcript & proof of domicile) - What was yours?
    1. Our interview went great.
  2. Submitted required documents: May 18, 2019. They have received it & even confirmed it when I inquired about it a month later.
  3. It's JULY 4, 2019 --- I have contacted my local consulate & have even called the NVC, they say the case is in Administrative Processing and the documents have not yet been reviewed.

I have submitted everything they asked for.... Anyone else on the same boat as I am? Whats your experience? They give a standard automatic response to my inquires. Any one out there who's going through the same? We can talk about it....

Being placed in Administrative Processing once documents are requested after your interview is normal.....frustrating, YES...but normal.

It all depends how quickly your consulate reviews the documents that are requested. People have been known to be placed in AP for up to 2 years.....all the while, docs are awaiting review. All you can do is wait.

Also, if you have already attended your interview at the consulate, then there is no need to contact NVC for any updates......their part in the process has been completed once they hand your packet over to the embassy for interview scheduling. :)

But the consulate is not reviewing the documents from 2 months and the its been 1 year in AP process and CEAC shows expired soon this thing is getting me more frustrated and worried what we can do now don't know why they are taking soo much time for review the documents

221g Was given on Oct 23rd and they kept passport.  We received a questionnaire about a week later.  Our case had updated on its own many times through January now it only updates when we inquire.

Exactly , only gave us the 221(g) and said at this moment, I can't issue your visa. We will contact you.

It's been two weeks and so far they have not requested anything .
