My fiancé has his medical in London this Friday, May 17.  Is it pushing it to try to schedule his interview on May 24?  Thanks!

Generally 4-5 days is okay. so think yours is more than adequate. Worst case is they do the interview and they don't make a decision until after they receive the medical info if they hadn't already.

Also, not sure how UK does it, some countries, the medical results are given to the beneficiary in a sealed envelope following the medical to deliver themselves at the interview. (Philippines and believe Egypt do it this way)

Resist the temptation to schedule them too close together, it'll save you time in the long run. Medicals are taking longer than the published timescales. I left 7 working days, but it took 12 working days for my medical to arrive at the embassy, so I was handed a 221(g). It then sat in Administrative Processing until they got around to matching my medical to my case.

This was in December so YMMV, but I know Knightsbridge are a bit slower than they used to be.

We left about 3 weeks of time in between. Worked out well for us because the consulate received the medical and had it when we actually went for the interview, so we got approved on the spot. Some people do it too close and their medical hasn't even been delivered yet, and they don't get automatic approval.

My medical is also on Friday and my interview is 2 weeks later

I’m also leaving three weeks between mine just to be safe! I would’ve maybe gone the week before but nothing available! X

Just an update - when my fiancé went to schedule his interview, there was today,  May 23 or the next opportunity was late June.  We decided to go for today, thinking either we'd be very lucky and the medical would have arrived, or if not, it would hopefully get matched to his file before the late June dates.

He went today and was in and out in an hour.  Much like other reviews, they did not ask for much, though he had plenty prepared.

Anyhow - the interviewer said he was APPROVED!!!! (pending receipt of medical).  He also said he expected it would be no longer than a week for the visa to be issued.  He sounded confident in that, but we shall see.  Our status now says AP.

I'll keep you all posted!

Another update!  This morning CEAC showed that our case was "touched" today.  About an hour later status changed to Ready.  Just now it has changed to Non-Immigrant Application Received.  I know that the status changes back and forth, but it seems they received the medical and matched it with our case already.

Not trying to encourage anyone to move too fast!  It just happened to work out ok for us!  Good luck everyone x

They are moving fast these days. He has the visa one week from interview and had two potential holdups...medical not arrived  and a Monday holiday.

Congratulations. Does he POE at IAH? I've done that.
