Hello to whoever is reading this message.  My fiancee just got her K1 visa.  We thought we were done.  We had help from a paralegal.  I just found out my fiancee needs to get a CFO certificate.   Is that all i need?  The paralegal probably deals with allot of Hispanic K1s but not Philippine ones. I need a little help here.  I think we're done once we get the CFO.  Thank you in advance.

CFO is usually the last step before going to the airport

CFO-GCP seminar is required to get the sticker in the passport to exit the Philippines.

Also she will need to pay the travel tax; this can be paid at the airport or a variety of location, even online.  Info on travel tax is at the bottom of the CFO page I linked.

This link has a list of documents that CFO is known to ask for, BE PREPARED.

OP, do a search in the Philippines subforum for CFO experiences. Hank_ is known to say that is can be a breeze or a nightmare. Don't freak out over the horror stories, but as noted above, be prepared. Good luck...you are almost home!

I have questions regarding the CFO sticker. My fiancé has one that is expired, but says she can renew it. She had to get one for the J1 Visa. She is 24 and we doubt we can get the parental advice. Will she just be able to renew the sticker like she thinks she can or does she have to re-attend the seminar and get a new sticker with the parental advice? I am new to this and we filed for the K1 in January. Thank you for all answers!

No parental advice is needed to do CFO.  There are two different seminars at CFO.   My guess is she did PDOS but needs GCP for a K1

YMMV

Your fiancee very likely is correct.    I say "very likely" because the CFO seminar she took before was PDOS and the one for a fiancee or spouse (of USC) is the GCP seminar.   IF .. CFO does not have any issue and all is good, your fiancee can take her certificate from earlier and get a new sticker in her passport.  (if she doesn't have the certificate anymore I have heard that CFO can look it up in the computer)

As for parental advice/consent letter .. it is not a listed document on the CFO website, but it is well known that CFO does ask for it at times using the "other documents" clause.   CFO tends to focus more closely on a person that is timid, meek or shy .. if you fiancee is a self-assured person and speaks up looking a person in the eyes she shouldn't have any issues.

Thank you so much. I can now breathe a little easier.

Can't speak for what has happened in the past but only from my experience.   My fiancee was 22 and no advice was requested

I didn't wait for my wife to get her cfo stuff out of the way. Soon as we got married. I set an appointment for her. All she now needs is the visa on hand and she can go back and get the sticker. It doesn't need to be the last step. She doesn't need to set an appointment for the sticker. She just goes in with the certificate and bam she's out.

My NOA2 was just approved today. So now I am going to help her to start to accomplish her tasks.

It could be close to another month before NVC has forwarded the case file to the embassy.

Ah, your wife completed CFO many months ago and has her passport in her married name now?
