Thanks a lot!!! It won't drag till November (Insha'Allah)

How long after filling out DS-160 one could schedule an interview?? You can do it the next day but since the validity of your visa is based on the medical date you DO NOT want to schedule to far away from each other.

We are expecting a notification from NVC in a couple weeks, so you suggest hold off paying the visa fees too? See above.

And how do we extend NOA2?? By calling the Embassy. Call the embassy and see what their requirements are. Most do it without a problem and other make you jump through hoops.

Does it affect our case in any way? If they don't approve the extension and your NOA2 expires without the extension then you will have to go to the back of the line and resubmit the K-1 from the beginning and pay all current fees.

Appreciate your help

I have been following this thread a while, and It has been really helpful to keep me calm in this LONG process. Thank you everyone who contributes! I just wanted to let everyone know today I received an email from NVC that they have sent our application to the Sydney Consulate! This is exactly 4 weeks after receiving the NOA2 on Aug 5th! Very Exciting!!!

Thank you! When I search is says "In Transit". I tried the DHL hack, but I can't seem to figure it out, It just responds that nothing has been found. Has it changed? Does anyone know how to find out?

Q1. At the interview.

Q2. Dont start the DS-160 till you're ready to complete it in one seating.

Q3. If this drags out to November then at sometime in November you'll contact the embassy to extend.

@Greenbaum Thanks again for the help! Sole Legal Guardianship is almost through (Thank God). I have been reading that at times a court order is required to take the child out of country. Is this a requirement for Islamabad?

My fiancee finally received her visa! Once we get our son's Philippine passport (he's already got the CRBA and US Passport) I can plan our travel to bring them home. Would it be advisable to get his Emigration Clearance Certificate (ECC) anyways, just incase or is his Phil passport definitely enough? Thanks all for the support!

Go over to the Philippines sub forum and ask HANK. He'll have the most current procedures.

Sorry, I have been away sick. I am not sure of the requirements for each country. Search out a subforum here on VJ and see if there is someone who knows the answer to your question.

Sorry I have been away sick. Sometimes the DHL hack is problematic. I am sure you are way beyond that part of your timeline so my answer would not make a difference to you now.

Everyone once you arrive here in the thread make sure you fire off an email to NVC to update your email address and that of your beneficiary. Follow the instructions in the first post of this thread. It worked for me and NVC sent me an email once my case was approved and also once they assigned my case number. It only takes a few minutes and you only have to gain. Be sure to provide the information NVC request each time you email them. Put your USCIS receipt number in the subject line.

Please on updating both the petitioner and the benefiarys email, where do you write the beneficiary's email address since only one slot has been provided on the page which I think is for the petitioners email.

Thank you

Thank you

Here are the instructions for the PDF.

How do I update my email address with NVC: Once you receive your NOA2 approval then

contact NVC via https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-
resources/ask-nvc.html to update your email address as well as your beneficiary's email

address. This will give you an email alert when your file arrives at NVC, your case is assigned and when the file leaves for your Embassy. Enter the petitioner's information as well as the beneficiary's in the "empty box". Full name, Date of Birth, (use DD/MONTH/YYYY, i.e., 08/April/2019 for the DOB field) NOA2 receipt number and WAC number. We have found in some cases that emails are never sent and in other cases this works well. So, your mileage may vary.
