I use to work on cruise ships with MANY people from the Philippines as well as other countries... leaving families behind for months at a time and they do it to give their families a better life! All legal and all honorable. They are some of the hardest working people you will ever meet and to say it's "heartless" is heartless in itself.

 

And for the record... if you're going to get offended and snap every time someone tells you something you don't want to hear, you might as well delete your account now! Because we believe in doing things right and safe. Anything short of that will receive back lash.

It is quite common for many people from certain countries to leave family behind to seek opportunities in other countries to provide for family back home. Many are even proud of this decision as they have made a huge sacrifice for their families when there are no other opportunities in their home country. If one has to choose between staying home and suffering from extreme poverty or migrating to send money back home so their family could eat, most would make the tough decision.

 

@MaCianLe has already apologized. Seems she sincerely was unaware of how common that type of situation is. Never the less, we should try to keep this thread on topic of the original question.

Back to topic... I would not apply again after only a month. I would make sure all of my paperwork (divorce decree, property, employment) is prepared and all my ducks are in a row. I would read other feeds and topics about tourists visa and see what they suggest you do to show intent to return to home country.

That's really my plan if ever I will apply again. I will wait for the finalization of my annulment case and have all the documents prepare and will search for any tips and process on how to do it next time I will apply again. Thank you for the advice.

As has been mentioned children are not a tie nor is property, you can sell property and transfer funds.

 

So what do you do? I would focus on that your Job and how you would be silly staying in the US when you have a much better life to go home to.

I worked as a technical staff here at our university turning 3 years this coming November. And for the property I just bought it recently and still on monthly basis for the remaining balance.

Neither property, nor a job, nor kids in Phils are ties. These have been abandoned by many previous 'visitors' to the US. Many mothers have left toddlers behind. 

 

I suggest meeting with the bf either in Phil or a SE Asian country. File for a fiance/spouse visa once annulment is final; no point wasting money on another b2 attempt.

OP will be doing a MAsters degree so nothing will be happening soon, K1 whatever. She said annulment would be done soon and I do not know how long the MAsters will be but obviously years.

I read too many posts like this. You don't have strong ties to your country which will guarantee you to come back to your home country after your trip to visit your bf in the US. In fact you are considering to go to K1 visa so you are having immigrant intent on the back of your mind. I'm sure you're ready to give up your house and your study if you got your fiance visa approved so what's holding you back with tourist visa?

 

Better for your BF just to keep visiting you til you finish your study.
