To be eligible for the K1 fiance visa, you MUST have met at least once in the past 2 years, in person.  By sounds of it you havent been with each other in person since 2014.

When you make this visit or she does, make sure you document it with dated photos and keep airline recordz.

If you haven't seen each other in--person since 2014 you aren't eligible for a K1 visa. You have to file within 2 years of the last visit. So you need to meet in-person again.

Like everyone else said you have to have met in person at least once within the last 2 years to be eligible for K1.

On top of that, I see you're from Nigeria. From what I see on this site, meeting once or twice in a few years is usually not enough to get approved the K1 through Nigeria embassy. If you want to go through with this, you should visit each other way more then once or twice and have A LOT of evidence that your relationship is real.

If anyone from Nigeria has more info or if I'm wrong, please correct me. I'm going by the info I read on VJ, not personal experience.

read the Nigerian posts here on Nigerian portal

and embassy reviews

it is really  difficult to be approved for a K1 in Nigeria

you will need more than 1 visit as we have seen on here over and over

several quality vists to prove the relationship is real

and do not make the mistake to have an engagement party and photos to prove things

it will be mistaken for a marriage (kinda in between K1 and CR1 for spouse)

and the K1 will be denied as CO at embassy interview will say you are too married for a K1 visa

I am sure you see yourself as totally in love but a one time short visit almost 4 years ago is not A REAL relationship for immigration perposes

i made 5 trips of 1 month to meet

2 months to marry

1 more for a honeymoon

2 of 3 more months each

this is what we have to do for the high fraud African  countries

good luck

Ok thanks so much everyone for all the information I appreciate remain blessed all.

My suggestion is to have her visit more..Her 2014 visit to Nigeria has since then expired and doesn't make you eligible to apply for a K-1 at this time... If you guys still want to go the K1 route, more visits needs to take place along with other quality evidence..As for the Embassies and K1's, not very many approvals unless you are presenting some strong evidence...Not my place to tell which route you should go, but I prefer the CR1 over the K1 IMO...Good luck on the rest of your journey...
