Ah okay, do you know if this replaces the i-134 or do they want both?

If you have a copy of the P3 for Germany then in it will be the financial requirements that need to be met for the interview. If you don't have a copy let me know as I have a copy to share with anyone. Second thing is, and I want to make this perfectly clear. If you have not filed your 2018 taxes and you are interviewing before April 15th then typically and normally the CO will accept the 2017 tax transcript. If your interview is after April be sure you get your taxes done soon and submitted so they show up as an available tax transcript.

Here are the general requirements for most embassies with regard to financials.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form (https://www.uscis.gov/i-134) K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with an original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p.

Because there was a problem with the appointment scheduling website with my fiancé.  she had tried to merge another account that she had is in and it wasn’t letting her get to schedule a date

Submit an inquiry at the CGI website, tell them your case number and your name and your new application ID, they will correct it.  https:/cgifederal.secure.force.com

Some had just followed the link  https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/applicanthome clicked on "Provide Feedback" on the menu on the left, chose "Online system errors" on the "reason" drop down menu, wrote about the discrepancy in my new DS-160 application number and the schedule confirmation they sent me in the "comments" box, and attached a photo of my DS-160 application confirmation. 10 minutes later I got an email with the a schedule confirmation that had the new DS-160 application number.

Then one with the green around lol. But you will need 2018 since its the most recent year

Please see my reply above as the tax transcript issue is touchy with embassies and not all require the same document. In a nut shell if they take 2017 to an interview prior to 4/15 it should not be an issue. Many have used this procedure and have had no problems.

I'm slightly confused with the verbiage, It says at the bottom that "K visa applicants may present their own assets as proof; a tax return is not required." I understand that statement as not needing anything from the IRS?

Here's something cool for the UK VisaJourneyers! I've managed to track down what I believe is the DHL flight that our embassy cases are on :D https://www.flightradar24.com/DHK971/ - For those that are interested.

If you have other assets, cash, money in the bank, real estate holdings, steady income then they will entertain those items in lieu of a tax return. If your tax return is "strong" and shows that you earn way above the poverty level then use it.

You should find the sub-forum for your country/region and speak with others who have or are processing through Germany for further clarification. I typically have knowledge with the "big" picture but when it gets down to the embassy level it's impossible for me to know each and everyone.  Use the "forums" tab at the top of the page and scroll down 3/4 of the page and you will find sub-forums.

Excellent. You might consider scooting over to the sub-forum for the Philippines where there are other experts like Hank that know a lot about the process in the PI.

hi!!!!

I'm trying to fill out ds160 and I'm stuck at the page with family members' questions.

It's asking if my father is still living. But I don't have any information about him except the date of his birth

When I choose "yes" it's asking his address and if he lives in US,  when I choose 'no" it's asking for the date of his death.

What can I do in this situation?🙄

I can imagine you're far from the first person they've had to deal with that knows nothing about one of their parents. I'm sure Greenbaum knows more than me about this, but if it were me i'd just answer to the best of my ability and try to make as accurate guesses as I can for the rest of it. Just remember to explain that you know nothing about your father during the interview, if they bring it up.

Well the thing is that i can't make any guesses. I know absolutely nothing about this person. I just don't want to lie in ds160 saying that he is dead and putting some random year))) or what if he lives in US  but i answer that he doesn't. I'm just not sure the interviewer  will believe me if I tell him i don't know anything about him so I put wrong information.

Anyway thank you for trying to help me 😊 I appreciate that.

But I hope someone can show me the right direction

Do you know if he is alive? Have you tried a Google search on his name? Will the form allow you to answer n/a, unknown etc?
