yeah i m following ceac.. date chaned once when they received documents.. they will send me letter for asking passport? or my documents back before it changes to nonimmigrant? or i m gonna receive those after it changes to nonimmigrant?

sorry for too many questions guys just trying to understand the process..

The process is simple. Follow what ceac is telling you. Stay off the phones because nothing will move your case forward with calling. Relax and find a hobby. This is not an easy process and the more you overthink it the more frustrated you'll get. This has been my experience as well as helping others for 5 years. If you wait things will happen, if you call, text, email or send smoke signals you are not going to move the needle.

After 13th July it's going 6 months n I m still in administrative processing  can anyone tell me in Mumbai embassy in India anyone was in administrative processing for 6 months n more?

If you were to become a student of this thread and read it from the beginning your answer would jump off the page. What a sweet feeling that would be that you found the answer to your own question. Yes Mildred there have been others who have been in AP for 6 months or more with the embassy in Mumbai.

Here is the letter that you will receive from Mumbai Embassy. Read it over carefully and follow the instructions. Another member of VJ added some additional information contained below which outlines what he experienced.

Once you received your case number from NVC,  I would recommend you fill out DS-160 form and submit. Some say the packet 3 letter is nothing just waste of time same thing they have mention which you easily get from USCIS website when you called to the clinics to book your medical appointment date they will ask you have you received your packet letter or not. Just say yes and booked the appointment date however you will receive that letter within 2 weeks the day you will get your NVC number.

Go on USCIS website make your account with password and then pay your fees to Citibank or Axis bank. They will give you reference number. With that number you can book your biometric and interview appointment date. The fees are 18,500 and for medical but I recommend that you carry 20,000 with you in the event you need more. Be sure to  keep at least 7 days gap between medical and interview.

You are over reacting.  Reread what I said as it was very positive.  I could lie and make up stuff if that make you feel better. Just give some more time and stop comparing yourself to others! Oy vey!

Hey @Greenbaum,

It's been a month now. I am still waiting for them to issue the visa on my passport.

Just an overview of my case:

Visa category: CR1

Attended the interview in March. During the interview they handed me 221g.

I submitted all the document after a week.

On June 17 I emailed Mumbai consulate to inquire about my case with description of all the proof I submitted.

June 21 I received all my proof(documents) back with the letter to submit my passport.

I submitted my passport on July 1.

After waiting for 2 weeks I emailed the consulate again and they replied saying our records indicate that visa application is under processing.

Can you or anyone on this thread suggest me what to do now?

It's been over a year and a half now since we applied.

What do you guys think the reason of them holding back my passport?

@NMP, unfortunately no one here would know the reason for the delay . In our case it took 2 months for them to issue visa after submitting passport. So your case is still under normal processing time

@ujones, so they also sent all your docs back with the letter to submit your passport?

I thought you submitted your passport with proof of relationship.

In my case as they already completed AP process and sent all the documents/proof back.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form (https://www.uscis.gov/i-134) K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with an original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p.
