whats the update?

It's still in Administrative Processing Non-Immigrant status. It's just that the "Case Last Updated" date changed from May 16, 2019 to August 22, 2019. It was very frustrating and confusing for months for why our "Case Last Updated" was not changing.

My fiancé had an interview today (Sep 6) at Mumbai, female CO asked my fiancé various question, she answered those question and gave accurate relevant dates. at end of interview while handing passport back to my fiancé goes CO "now my side  is pending and we will get back to you" and wishes her good day and bye. my fiancé didn't know that it was 221(g) letter in her passport. it said "your case is under administrative processing. We will contact you once the administrative processing is complete."

but once she got home she check ceac status it says "Refused"

does this mean its denied and I need to try something else? problem is I have already paid for some planned wedding expense and was planing visit her in India in November. should I put my plans on hold? or Try filing I-130 and get married when I go see her?

@adarkenigma, if they haven’t asked for any documents it’s just that ur case is in AP which isn’t unusual. Once it’s in AP initially status shows refused until the reason for AP is satisfied. So in our case they needed further documents & till we gave that it showed refused. So don’t worry too much about that either. But never pay for any plans till you get your passport with visa in it as nothing is predictable here.
