Very confused I-90 - 10 year renew.

Hello everyone, it has been a long time since I came here to VJ.

I am about to apply for my 10 GC renew and I am so confused. 

Do they request supporting documentation (pics, lease, bills, exc.) to be sent or not? I have been reading conflicting information, so I am really not sure.

 

Also is there a specific place to be sending this through mail? I only see the form online but if supporting documentation is needed, where to send it to?

 

I have been searching all over and I find a lot of info on 2 year GC  but very little about the 10 year one.

No. Just a photocopy of your GC.

Online filing is recommended. It let's you upload the scan of your GC.

Isn't it a little bit early? When does your GC expire?

 

If your existing card has already expired or will expire within six months, did you provide the following?

• A copy of your expired/expiring Permanent Resident Card

Expires on 7/19. I won't be sending it till the 19th of this month but trying to figure out all that I need to send now. Seriously, I have been freaking out about all the copies that I would have to make and trying to get this done by the 19th. I feel so dumb now, because I have been reading that only a copy of the GC is needed along

with the fee and form, but I couldn't believe it is that easy.😒

the instructions are there online, but I believe you're confused with removing conditions to get the 10 year GC. once you have the 10 year GC, the renewal every 10 years doesn't need all that proof.

 

or unless you are confused and you are removing conditions because you have the 2 year GC. removing conditions and renewing the 10 year GC are two different processes

Since you are simply renewing an already existing 10 yr card the process is very easy

Hi everyone, yes, it is my 10 year GC, not my 2 year. I am just speechless that it is this easy. I have over 350 pages in documentation that I was reviewing, plus pics, affidavits, exc., and now I find out I didn't need any of that. My oh my...

You have been granted permanent residency with no conditions attached.  It is now much more akin to simply renewing you driving license

Exactly, just with a way higher renewal fee compared to a DL; lol

That is excellent. Maybe that is why I couldn't find any info on documentation that needed to be submitted. 😳

I would file online. I replaced my GC with an I-90 once but not because it expired but because I changed my last name. 

 

Also since you've been a resident for 10+ years would you consider citizenship? That can also be filed online

Kinda hard to find info on sending something that isn't required.

I consider it but not at this moment. I will probably in another 5, 7 years from now.
