Looking for recommendations for traveling to USA on a K1 visa.

1. Any problem, on flying with a less expensive airline ticket and landing(doing immigration) in a US State not being the state specified on the Visa request form?  Fiance could go from Manila to Miami with one stop outside USA or a much less expensive two stop including one inside USA, like JFK, LAX, BOS or ATL? This will push immigration to be done on the 2nd stop instead of of final destination.

2. For the Airline ticket for a K1 visa is required to be a round-trip?

2.a If round-trip not required, did anyone ever try to buy a (less expensive one-way) USA-Manila-Manila-USA and use only the Manila-USA part ?

2.b.If round-trip not required, what is the time frame for the return ?

Thanks.

1. No, this is fine. For lots of people the closest major international airport is not in their home state.

2. There's no requirement of a one-way or round-trip ticket. However, if you get a round-trip ticket, make sure to cancel the return trip if you can't reschedule it to a time when you can use it so you don't get incorrectly reported as having left the country. Many people have done this (we won't; one-way tickets from Moscow to LAX are cheaper than round-trips); usual practice is to set the return date as far out as the airline allows because you wouldn't be able to use it until after you get advance parole or your green card.

If you buy a rt it must be Manila USA Manila and you forgoes the second half.  If you buy as you posted and for went the front half, the entire itinerary is cancelled

YMMV

1. You can find the cheapest or most expensive flight you want.

2. No, it can be one way or round trip whatever it works for you.

2a. This is very common so don't worry if you go this route.

2b. They will cancel the return portion of the roundtrip ticket but usually you can book a round trip flight for 4-6 months later.

I just got back from the Philippines 2 weeks ago using the return only, I end-up buying a one-way going to Cebu into a early date and ignored the first part of my round trip, I had no issues using the return only.

Foreign, China-Eastern Airlines

You got lucky.  It's in the CE contract for carriage.   If a passenger uses the flight coupons out of sequence the "may" cancel your itinerary.   If it was a US airline the may becomes a will

YMMV

Use google flights to to find the cheapest flight.Be careful about connecting in third countries.  Also look round trips with a return 6 months out.   You don't have to use the return.

It was cheaper form my wife to connect in Hong Kong and Beijing then other options.  In Beijing she stayed within the transit area and didn't need a transit visa.  If connecting in Canada you need a transit visa and you can get that done online.

Interesting. I’ve worked for an airline for 19 years and never seen this happen. What reason did you give for this fare manipulation (which is what it is) when you checked in using only the inbound leg?

1. No problem to do that, the only thing is make sure you have a long layover time between your international to domestic transfer (I would say at least 4-6 hours just to be safe)

2. No

2a. If is US airlines, it will automatic cancel for any segments after the you missed the initial segment.  Other airlines, who knows, but you are at their mercy.  Don't take the chance.  Do RT Manila-US-Manila then you can skip the return trip.

2b. see above.

2c. As alternative, do you have frequent flier miles with a particular airlines, you can book an award flight that way and in most case are one way.  This is how I did it with my wife when she came over.  If you don't have enough miles, most airlines allows you to buy miles or sigin up airlines credit card to earn their welcome bonus.

I wanted to go early and was cheaper to buy a one way instead of change
