IDF launches operation to neutralize Hezbollah tunnels

It will be fun to watch all the anti semites screaming "massacre" when Israel ends up having to destroy everything that has been built with western money in Lebanon over the last decade, due to the irresponsibility of not making sure Lebanon actually acts as a sovereign country and doesn't let Hezbollah and Iran take over which is what has essentially happened. So, if/when a war breaks out with Hezbollah using tunnels and 100,000 rockets all intentionally coming out of heavily populated areas and Israel has to destroy said tunnels and rocket arsenals and harms innocent civilians, I'll just have to remind all those self righteous fools that the international community which didn't prevent this from happening can kiss my happy.... 😉

"This is the most blatant proof of the violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 that ended the Second Lebanon War," the IDF accused.  
  
"The tunnels pose a risk to the Lebanese residents across the border as well, and we see the Lebanese government as responsible for everything that happens north or the border," the IDF added. "The fact is that the Lebanese army does not control the area and doesn't take responsibility for southern Lebanon, while Hezbollah is the one operating in the area and in the Shiite villages. Behind Hezbollah is Iranian knowledge and money, and we will deal with that in the coming days as well."

 

"We see Hezbollah's activities as a flagrant and blatant violation of Israeli sovereignty," said Lt. Col Jonathan Conricus, a military spokesman. "This activity is another example of the negative effects of Iranian entrenchment in the region."

 

Conricus said that Hezbollah has been developing an offensive plan against Israel that would "shift the battleground into Israel." The group would use firepower and ground units and "the surprise component of that plan was supposed to be tunnels that would allow infiltrators into Israel."

 

The operation comes hours after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a last-minute trip to Brussels to meet US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, in which the two discussed "ways to halt together Iranian aggression in the region," including in Lebanon. 

 

Netanyahu asked Pompeo to pass on a message to the Lebanese government, telling them that if Beirut doesn't stop Hezbollah's armament efforts, Israel will have to take action. Israel sent a similar message to Lebanon recently through France.

I love how people get to throw around the word anti-semite, but when actual anti-semites are marching in the US and well being actual anti-semites, they hardly see them post anything. It's almost as if people have blinkers so tightly on, they aren't able to see the obvious.

I'm sorry, was anyone supposed to come here and whine after a lunatic shot people in a synagogue? That would kind of make me a hypocrite, considering we had a couple of unnamed people in the past who would do nothing but come in here to whine and that didn't really go over well with me.  More concerned about people systematically trying to be the new Nazis rather than a few lunatics.

You quite often post without any basis to your words.  This post is a good example of that.  No one here has called you anti-Semite.  Ever, that I can recall (but feel free to post a link if my memory is failing me).

 

I don’t post much about the Israeli conflict, because I don’t really know enough to do so.  You might find it appealing to stick to what you actually know about.  Or not; your choice.  But I suspect you are way out of your league on this topic vs someone who actually lived there.
