Join military conditional GC

Hi!

Has anyone here joined the military on a conditional GC lately and would like to tell me about the process?

There has been a long history of non-citizens proudly serving the U.S. But a recent Department of Defense policy change has delayed the process for all GC holders: http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/stories/20171024_194.html

What service are you wanting to join? Be aware that a couple will not let you join under the 2 year conditional green card.

I read that only Air Force requires an unconditional GC. The other branches don't. What other branches can't you join with a conditional gc?? And when did that change?

You asked "What other branches" and @Roel's post states it also applies to the Navy.

It might be helpful for people to give better experience-based advice  if you answer Cyberfox's question earlier about which service you're wanting to  join.

Why does it matter what service? My thread is simply about the process to join the military. Not what branch you can or can not join. You can join the Navy, Army, and Marines on a conditional GC. You need an unconditional GC for the Airforce. At least this is what I have been told. 

And the reason that I wanted to hear personal experiences was because the process changes a lot all the time. I know that there are previous posts in here but I wanted to hear about more recent experiences.
